Congratulations on staying in the league. Wild Thing still has a lot of fans at QPR, we've been cheering you and Notts County on all afternoon.
I still can't believe it. So pleased for all those fans that travelled down to Torquay knowing it was probably the last game in the Football League for a while. Nothing but admiration for them. Thanks for the congats folks.
Thank you and fair play to the Mansfield players who were magnificent in defence when they had nothing to play for.
You are either all pee'd or something similar or everyone goes to bed very early in Wycombe. Your board should be buzzing all night tonight after your Houdini act. Well done and see you next season.
Yes agree had a few and still having some more, some have gone off clubbing [poor seals] FLS on soon but Houdini won't get a mention and also its a long way back with many pubs to pass on the way
A really special day brings back memories of two years when I went up to Sheff W for their promotion party. A great atmosphere all afternoon the gods shined on us today if you wanted to score goals at the right times all three came along on Q a brilliant last goal well taken by lobbing the goalkeeper. I think Torquay will cope with Conference better than Rovers with their recent turn down there. Who would be a football supporter.
that was, without doubt, the most remarkable, nerve-wracking and amazing day I've ever had in my year supporting Wycombe! That entire second half was pure torture though - with our game basically over waiting for news for the rovers, expecting an inevitable equaliser that didn't come all half was just horrific, and the scenes of pure celebration and relief among the 929 (superb following!!) were a joy to behold and a joy to be part of! talking about the game for a second, it was an excellent performance against a very poor side, Sammy wood played one of the best game of his career (on the left WING, thank you gaz!) and in McClure and craig it looks like we finally have a good strike partnership thank you Mansfield, WE ARE STAYING UP
Glad you had a great time mate. Just wish I was there. Was a nervous afternoon listening to the games knowing that one goal for rovers could change everything
Unfortunately my view of Rovers fans is somewhat tainted after last week. The pitch invasions (when nothing was absolutely settled) followed by the gloating and abuse on a number of social media sites left me with a bitter taste and wanting it to be them that faced the drop (if we could pull it off). I know some of the gas heads that come on here are pretty level headed guys and I truly feel for them, but for the more than small minority, you got your just desserts. The game itself yesterday saw a number of players sweat blood for the shirt. Sam Wood stood out for me with his tireless work rate, good goal and a superb tackle almost on the line when we were 1-0 up. He looked as though he was definitely second best to reach the ball, but stretched every sinew to make a vital challenge. Who knows, at 1-1 it could have changed the face of the game! Now time for it to sink in after the great celebrations of yesterday. Lets hope the good parts of the squad don't all leave. I know some transfers seem inevitable with championship clubs sniffing around a few players. Also lets hope we get some clarity on the investors sooner rather than later and en we can have a properly structured break with hopefully an improved budget. Whatever happens we will still blindly follow!!!
Yes a great day mate my recollection of the game itself is somewhat more foggy but great goal from Sammy I was watching all of the second half with just one thing going on in my head (come on Mansfield) Hears to next season roll on August
