i'll tell you exactly what that club needs, and thats a relegation to league one! yes it painful, yes its not very pleasant, but for some clubs its the reality check that supporters, owners and players require to start afresh, get back to basics and rebuild. we NEEDED to be relegated to come back a stronger club and ipswich are another club who need to fall on their sword if they wish to become a force again. i'm not just saying this to get a reaction - i really, really believe its the breath of fresh air that some clubs need. look at the saints - a club very similar to ourselves and ipswich - they had to suffer the humiliation of the drop alongside city (naturally, being our relegation buddies ), but its done them the world of good! i don't believe they will go down - they will finish in their usual slot of mid-table obscurity, but for every passing year they sit in nowhere land, the disease will spread. coventry are the next club with 'relegation to league one' written all over them - they NEED to go down - this is their year to do so. they will come back stronger. it might take them one year like us or it might take them three or four like forest and leeds, but its what they need. i urge ipswich to do likewise, for their own prosperity in the future. its simple. take one step back to go two steps forward
Saints fan in peace fully agree with what you've said there. Although i am still struggling to accept the start we've had. Anyway good luck in the premier league and hope to see u there next season!
true beefy, but they have started well this time around and looking at their team, chris powell has signed many talented young players from other lower league clubs, one or two were players i'd expected to sign for championship clubs - dale stephens in particular is a terrific prospect. with a bit of momentum they could be the next ones...
