Of the strikers this how I see it:

    Igor. Nothing need be said.

Tucudean - Too lightweight. He can have his day, but that’s one in every 5-7 games. Upper League One quality.

Moussa - Not sure if we've played him much in his favoured role of behind the striker or coming off the left. A squad player.

Polish Pete - possibly still one for the future, though I think the Benfica story got us all dreaming of more. Jury's still out.

Reza - I think he would fare a lot better in this side, and would have been a good partner for Igor. Ultimately he sees his future nearer to home where he seems to have a God like status.

Obika and Tudgay - something needed to be addressed at that time, and with one knowing the club and the other the division I think we were hopeful they would be the answer. Unfortunately Tudgay didn't look like the player of 2 years previous and we didn't get the same Obika as the year before.

We must do better here. Big Bob as a striker must be able to spot a talented player (Igor was his suggestion), but I guess RD has too much faith in his network of scouts.

We need something and pretty sharpish, i know RD does not want to pay OTT which i understand, but of we stand any chance of doing anything he might have to dig a little deeper

Double post alert - I was just speaking with a guy who was covering Blackpool for us at the weekend and he said they look a completely different side. A bit of further research in to their team affairs since Riga's disastrous run came to an end suggests it might not be as easy as it looks. It also shows what an idiot Oyston is for not backing Jose. Since then they've signed:

Andrea Orlandi - was very impressive at Swansea and saw enough action for the past 2 years at a (then) top 6 side in Brighton.
Chris Eagles - we are well aware of him I think.
Darren O'Dea - was very hit and miss in the Championship, but still think it's a decent signing for them.
Stuart O'Keefe - Someone we was about to loan before the Coq became available.
Nyron Nosworthy - perhaps lost some of his traits like pace, but adds vital experience to the backline.
Jamie O'Hara - lost his way at Wolves, though injuries didn't help. If fit and on song he will have to be watched. I wouldn't be adverse to signing him if he regains fitness.
Kevin Foley - on loan from Wolves. Still only 30, but his career did stall there. Think he won their POTY a few times.

Don't get me wrong, you should be looking to take 3 points from any side that's bottom of the table - but don't think it will be as easy as the league suggests. What was probably an easy 3 points 6 weeks ago is a banana skin.

It's frustrating for all of us. So many points dropped when with just a little more power in the attack, we could be right up there at the top end of the table.

I'm putting all my hopes in BP signing some forward power in the January transfer window and seeing that translate into better results in second half of the season. It's not as though the problem hasn't been identified. Not to strengthen the attack would be a dereliction of duty.

Your prediction several weeks ago (we won't win a game until Blackpool) will probably be pinned up on their dressing room wall:emoticon-0111-blush
