    I think we all agree that Putin is a Grade 1 C**k but that doesn't necessarily make his assessment wrong.I'm seeing a left/right division on Syria,the former pro,the latter anti.

    The problem with Syria is that they're simply aren't any "good guys".

    On the one hand, you have a ruthless Secular dictator who oppresses and terrorises his own people.

    And on the other, you have fanatical Islamic fundamentalist terrorists who want to turn Syria into another Iran.

    The myth that some in America and the West are trying to promote is that there is some kind of pro-democratic opposition.

    This is just wishful thinking - none exist.

    Agree 100%,they have bad guys and they have worse guys.Personally I would rather take a chance on a secular nutter than a religious one.At least there is a chance that he's not totally doo-lally.
