I haven't really been following the whole Syria thing, as I got bored by it months ago. What is happening, or is it just the usual pish? Hardly a surprise that Russia aren't agreeing with America though, is it?
What about Americas motives for wanting to go to war? If America was serious about human rights then they would not fund and support terrorists like Israel.
America don't want to go to war, according to them they want to destroy Syria's capacity to use Chemical Weapons. What motives do you think the US have with regards to Syria? Imperialist expansion? As for Israel, has Israel ever been accused of using Chemical weapons?
There was no condemnation from any if these countries when Saudi Arabia brutally cracked down on dissent within their own country, and likewise no condemnation when Saudi troops crossed the causeway and aided the Bahranian Sunni monarchy in brutally suppressing the protests from the Shia majority. Some spreading of democracy there. Yes and America have vetoed dozens of motions, sanctions and condemnations tabled about Israel in the UNSC, including their use of white phosphorous, a designated chemical weapon.
I take it you haven't been following this week's developments where mission creep has started to occur and Obama and Kerry are openly now talking about regime change.
As a rule of thumb, I always say that Russia are bad guys and the USA are the good guys, but, I suppose I'm old fashioned/sensible that way.
I've just posted Obama's statement which he made THIS MORNING. Where does he mention regime change in that?
Dev I'm posting from my phone no am in no mood to begin engaging with you in your own particular brand of tedium. When I'm writing short, use some sense. Countries I refer to are logically the usual suspects in condemnation of the Syrian government (not regime - try and shy away from propaganda riddled emotive rhetoric), aka America, UK, France etc....
[h=2]Vladimir Putin is presiding over the worst era for Russian human rights since the Soviet Union, according to two new reports by Amnesty and Human Rights Watch.[/h]http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/vladimir-putin/10015065/Vladimir-Putin-creating-worst-human-rights-climate-since-Soviet-times.html Good guy
Well the world has changed from the situation you were indoctrinated to believe in your Cold War military days. Try and not be so myopic
Mmm lets see . Should we let a country who sees its children being slaughtered indiscriminately by it's own citizens time and again and does absolutely heehaw about it be the moral standard bearer for the planet ? I think not . Throwing bombs at Syria will achieve nothing but death and destruction . It's their fight let them get on with it .
from a previous post it's apparent you believe a whistelblower who exposed warcrimes deserves punishment over those who committed the warcrimes. Tells me all I need to know about the warped morality of your political compass.
