I have come across many mistakes on wikipedia so I do not trust it as a source anymore. I trust an independent inquiry over that any day
It's just a conspiracy theory and it's completely false! I believe he is dead and good ****ing riddance to the arsehole. Many people create conspiracies to get people talking and worried etc.. People believe the world will on December 21st 2012, people believe Area 51 in America has Aliens hidden there and some think scientists are creating a time travelling machine. These people are idiots! He is dead, he was shot and killed, and let's hope all these other terrorist bastards get the same done to them.
OBL most likely is dead. Remember also that many people were tuoting the conspiracy theory that OBL died some years ago but the Yanks perpetuated the story of him being alive to give them a mandate to remain in Afghanistan. The conspiracists can't have it both ways, unless we're talking about two different groups for each of these theories. However, this shrine business is bull - OBL was I gather of the Wahabi sect who have been busy destroying shrines of many people important and revered by Muslims wherever they have power. Talk to Muslims about the extent of this destruction and you;ll be surprised - it'd be like our govt knocking down Westminster Abbey. A big proportion of the non-Wahabis proffer a third theory that OBL was a CIA double agent of sorts, saying that wherever he went the Americans usually followed (with their strategic air bases). Muslims (non-Wahabis) will also tell you that they traditionally visit the shrines of saints or prophets, not of warriors. So this burial at sea to avoid a shrine means there is some other reason or they were advised by some idiot who blagged his way to teh job of "Chief Adviser In How To Deal With Muslim Sentitivites", like that EDL chap who warned of us the Islamic Ray Gun (it's on Youtube). A forth conspiracy theory might be that in dumping him at sea there is some hidden message to some group or other.
he's deader than disco. i would guess that the SF were there to kill him not take him alive as this is what they have been doing with strikes on high value targets for the last 18months (Karzai is getting a bit pissed off with the US flying in and killing everyone).
A bloke down the pub told me he's still alive and Rupert Murdoch is in negotiations to get him to take over from Rebekah Wade when he eventually gets round to sacking her. I think it might be true.
