Great to see Sharp´s attitude at not playing as regularly as he hoped...working hard and waiting his chance. He understands that there are quality players around him and hopes to repay Saints for the money spent on him. Adkins didn´t deny or confirm that Sharp is going to start but did state that when players are injured (Chung, Connolly and Guly) there are players ready and waiting to step in. Hopefully Sharp will get given a chance to start showing his real worth this weekend. COYR!
Nigel says his conditioning has improved which means it was poor when he arrived and he isn't up to Saints' standard yet. However, Sharp will have a chance to shine on Saturday because we are running out of options. I'm sure he will grab the chance.
Sounding positve in the Sharp/Adkins interviews today! Conditioning is improving which is good and he is patient and understands he has to fight for his place - Exactly the type of player that we need
As quite a few men on here will know, it's possible to be unfit while not actually being fat and sometimes vice-versa. Le God was a one off and I'm not sure even he'd get away with it these days. Sharp has natural talent, but I'd imaginne that like Lambert, he hasn't had the lifestyle to match.
Yes I noticed the reference to Sharps fitness and to be honest he did look a bit porky when he first arrived, nothing that a couple of goals and a run in the side won't address.
That's from a Doncaster fan, from when we'd just signed him. I still believe Billy was a great signing for Saints and will prove it indefinitely.
Maybe not on this thread, but certainly on others there's been a few people who have said things a long those lines. Anyway I was just clarifying my view... I thought by quoting what that Donny fan said it would look like I was being a bit negative so wanted to support it with the fact that I do think Billy's a great player and a great signing too
