Achieved his 222 today... in perspective as good as it is, in 2024 Oisin Murphy rode 217 from 324 less rides..... even Fallon rode 221 from 265 rides less... and that before the advent of multiple all weather surfaces, off set by jockeys being able to ride two meetings a day...

Oisin Murphy is on a different planet to those riding today for me..

Depends a lot on the quality of horses they get to ride I suppose. I don’t know how flat jockeys stay motivated when they are riding dross round Wolverhampton for a pittance. The deprivation must be terrible. I can’t see why they can’t just put the weight range up by a stone to allow jockeys to have a relatively normal diet.

probably put a lot of people out of a job OD....

An amazing feat from such a young jockey. He rides what's available while the Murphys of this World have the choice of what they ride and who they ride for.

All pales into insignificance with Gordon Richard's 269.

Now there was a jockey you could rely on
