Maybe none guarantees success but I guarantee we will be a league 1 club if we stick with Del....IMO the buck stops with the manager to get the best from the players we have.
Don't get me wrong, Del is at fault too. But I think the players have to take a much larger proportion of responsibility than they are on here currently. As professionals they should have enough pride in themselves not to be as pathetic as Saturday.
There has been one common denominator throughout our decline and clearly it can't be the manager.... Del will stay in place, we have 26 games left to play, we will NOT be relegated so get used to it... As for Billy Davies, as I and others have said before, for such a successful manager, why do you think he has not been in great demand in the 17 months since his last job at Forest....??? Answer:- because he can't stop himself slagging off the people who employ him. Its like you appointing someone to manage your business for you and them then running off to the press telling the country how **** you are... He may be a half decent manager but would you tolerate that...? - you KNOW you wouldn't and, nor will anyone else...
"There has been one common denominator throughout our decline and clearly it can't be the manager.... Del will stay in place, we have 26 games left to play, we will NOT be relegated so get used to it..." This of course is total twaddle Prem, there is and has been nothing to backup what you have just said. That's unless 3 clubs in the championship go tits up. It's totally down to the manager, the players have changed, but the form or the attitude of the players hasn't...I really can't understand how you don't see it Prem. He's clueless, there is no other word for it and if he continues will become one of the worst managers this club has had in recent times. (which I don't believe but IS WAY out of his depth) By the way......Never wanted and still wouldn't want Billy Davies.
So you clearly want Del to stay fair enough, but the majority say different, who would you like if he is pushed.
The poll is currently 10-8 in favour of him staying.. So if anything it's 50/50. One of the main reasons I still want Del to stay is the sheer lack of decent managers that would come here. Hardly any of the suggested choices are any good.
I would love to see who voted to keep him, unfortunately the poll does not show the fans,I would say it smells of gas. Not sure if you were at the gate yesterday, but the crowd said it all.
Shiny has it set so you cannot see the votes, when you set it up,you have to choose if they can be viewed or not ROD
You will have to ask him to check, don't think they are too bothered with our vote as they have their own vote, plus they ain't happy with their manager at the moment.
I was the first one to vote for Del and I own up,it was 2-1 against then,I've got no shame, it's not just the front line,it's also what he has done to improve our whole system and he has....
Sadly wiz the majority of fans only care about the first team and what it does on a Saturday, fans pay a fortune to watch their teams,at present we are not getting value for money.
Carey? - omg! Wouldn't have him in charge for even one game. He even struggled as a captain to motivate others in the dressing room (part of the problem we've had is the lack of a leader in the dressing room and in the field). Short term solution: choose a good captain, and bring an experienced coach in temporarily. And def no to Billy Davies.
I ain't voted, simply because I'm not convinced either way. Some won't like it but I don't and won't be told what I should be thinking
Echoing Wiz really, from the outside it seems he's doing well revamping the whole youth set up, which is going to be utterly essential in future years with the FFP rules coming in to effect.
Sorry for reposting from another thread guys, so you already know my opinion, but I for one would be happy to wait for the first of McDermott, Adkins or Lambert to come available. Even though O'Neill is the favourite to take a bullet, I cannot see us having the budget he would want. Please dont try to tell me Billy Davies or Di Canio is better than the first three names I mention. Thats why patience is a virtue. How gutted we would be to appoint Phil Brown and then Lambert comes available the following week....
I have a few friends who are Villa fans, and however bad Lambert is doing there they can see that he is the man to change things. Like us they have been in decline for a few seasons now. But they are happy with Lambert and still back him.
