It's also a myth.
As I've pointed out on 6061's results comparison thread, Chelsea and Man Utd are actually a point better off than they were having played the same number of games last season.
Liverpool are 9 points better off, with only Arsenal having dropped 3 points, compared to their equivalent tally in the previous campaign.
Spurs and City have racked up an additional 9 and 10 points, making the other sides' totals look less impressive.
That's the only thing that's significantly changed.
That's because City have been much better than Utd were last season, when they were the leaders, Lidls.
The bar has been raised.
If Spurs were to beat Everton, then we'd have more points this season than Man Utd did after the same number of games last season.
On a separate subject, Barton's red card appeal has been dismissed.
