I like this board not only because of the shared love we have for the club but because the level of abuse you see in some forums is not prevalent here. If that is partially because the mods delete what they see as an attack on another poster I can go along with the occasional deletion right or wrong.
I was absent from the board for a long time due to my wife's health but now manage to get a little time to post. I generally like political threads on these forums but am disappointed by ours as it seems to reflect only one stream of opinion and consists mostly of posting items that are on twitter which if we were interested we could view on there. For me political threads are most interesting when people debate issues rather than copy and paste from elsewhere. Each to their own though and so I now ignore that thread, occasionally post here but read with interest the threads on football matters on which almost everybody knows more than me.
As a regular poster on the Politics thread, I have actually previously commented exactly that - that there is a definite imbalance of opinions. However, if no-one responds, contests or just posts alternative opinion then the situation will not change. Raise a discussion over there and see how it goes. :emoticon-0148-yes:

Pele has died. RIP.

<rose> RIP <rose>

The epitome of the beautiful game in playing and representing it, after his retirement. We are unlikely to see another like him.

1970 was my first WC. From WC coins and sticker albums to watching that incredible Brazilian team, it was an absolute joy and it was a long time before a WC was anywhere near as good...and Pele was front and centre in all that was good.

Only the best kid on the playground got to play as Pele....I was Tostao at best.

And now Vivienne Westwood. A crucial part of the punk movement from the mid 70s. RIP.

<rose> RIP <rose>

It wouldn't have been nearly as much fun without the fashion element. More than most people in the punk scene, she was a true visionary and enduring talent.

Even today, there's usually 1 bloke at every gig wearing one of these...

Underlying memory of Pele, the 1970 world cup team , I remember 66 but to me this was the world cup that stood out and one name was Pele ,he was the master who everybody wanted to see , RIP
He was the GOAT in my opinion. Yes, I am biased, as like you, this was the idol I grew up with. But there was something very special about the man.
RIP <rose> Pele - a man who brought light to a game and to his country!

And this picture is etched in my memory:
