Has anyone noticed that us and several other Premier League teams have games on the 7th and 9th of April? I know it's bank holiday weekend but there's really no need to put some teams through it and make others exempt.

Does this always happen on Easter weekend and I've somehow never noticed before?

Thats eggsactly what happens every Easter.

No, it doesn't usually happen in the PL on the Easter weekend. There was a reason given for this at the ebginning of this season, but I am blowed if I can remember what it was (it's an age thing !), but I think it's assocaited with the league finishing a week early because of the Euros this summer.

When I was involved in league football, the club I worked at, the secretary was on the FL fixtures panel and some of the stories he told me about fixtures was staggering. I remember he said that Northampton had to be away on a certain date because a home game would clash with the towns' annual flower festival !!

I can understand fitting fixtures in midweek to help but it's just as easy for us to play on Tuesday or Wednesday, like two clubs from Manchester are doing <whistle>

I think that it's more a case of what Hoilett and Blackburn are waiting for, TMT.
They were happy to take a risk, let his contract run out and hope that he'd help them to stay up.
If they manage it, then it'll be worth that risk, even if he were to leave to an overseas club and not attract a fee.

Hoilett himself was probably happy to run his contract down too, as it puts him in a very strong negotiating position.

Yep,good points as usual PNP. Sunderland seemed to have settled down a bit since the euphoria of MON's first games in charge and are doing what they normally do which isn't very much. MON might be a target for us because I cannot see him staying there.

2-0. The Yak's finished it off. I think he's quite close to becoming the second African player to hit 100 Premier League goals, isn't he?

I was thinking the same thing, the 'impress the new manager' period seems to be over, I'm not as concerned as I was about our fixture with them now.

I don't know,I never follow Sunderland or their players or anything. I didn't even follow football the last time that they won anything. The FA Cup in seventy something or other and I can't see them doing anything with MON either. He should leave and go to a better club. I'd probably rate him and Harry as equals, just.

Warnock's worked his magic at Leeds, where they've conceded 7 goals in a tie at Elland Road for the first time in their history! <laugh>

I wouldn't agree with me too much Notsosmart,The Boss might call you immature although I haven't a clue what he's talking about.
Seven goals eh,does any one remember Ellandback?

What a bizarre scoreline. Looks like 4 goals were scored in 4 minutes and 5 goals scored in the space of 8 minutes. A couple of weeks ago I was seriously considering having a larger wager on leeds to win the play-offs after they appointed Warnock. Glad now I never bothered.

He's on this site, TMT.
He's one of the Leeds mods, actually.

Are you sure? There was one Leeds fan by the same "Ellandback" moniker who came on our board not so long ago and was totally reasonable. They seemed aware that there was a wum by the same name but I'd be very surprised if that one was the same **** we had on Beeb 606.
