And the point being missed here is that she was the one playing the class card. She was using her new found status as a royal to object to photos. She was being precious. That was the context. “Uppity” conveys that. There was no racial element to it.
As discussed earlier in the week, people see racism when there isn’t any. And once raised, it trumps any valid point made.

 

The word 'uppity' has been synonymous with one of 2 'N words' for a very, very long time. It was a phrase used for American slaves who wouldn't yield to their masters will.

President Lyndon Johnson famously used it and it's such a well known and travelled path that there's even a clothing company bearing the epiphet, who produce garments like this, turning the racial slur into positive...

Maybe it has more racist connotations in the USA but trying to make it exclusively racist is to deny history. It's pretty insulting whoever uses it and whoever they direct it to. I can't think of a pleasant use of it so being called uppity reasonably causes anger but if we are to become a racist free society (unlikely) then calling the use of a general insult racist is almost racist in itself.

It's a modern trend to take words out of context and to associate them with something objectionable only to undermine the user's intended purpose.
Black people (amongst many others) have been referred to in various disparaging terms.
To claim a word is racist as a result when its general usage does not have racial connotations is disingenuous.

 

Put the N word after uppity, cause it often follows.
