I'm not a mod though (nor do I want to be) . < this message was originally posted on the Sunderland board >
Is that Clinton Morrison on the BBC, clearly not a clue; says Max Mayer has been excellent for Palace lol ,and that Batshuayi is a top player, that 2nd touch showing why he is now at Palace and not at Chelsea
Whichever commentator said Meyer was doing well in the centre of a three-man midfield on the left broke my brain
I think that there is a veggie restaurant. They definitely have veggie options, anyway. Beer-battered tofu and chips and halloumi burgers spring to mind.
Yet another pundit who will never say anything negative about his former club. Pointless getting him in. If they'd lost by 5, he'd not be saying anything very different.
How is it that pundits either refuse to slag off their old clubs, or we have the likes of Jamie Redknapp and Danny Mills who seem to be bearing a grudge for us selling them years ago? Shouldn't there be a middle option?
Tofu & chips at the fish & chip stalls Margherita pizza and rocket & parmesan salad at the pizza stalls Veggie pie at the bars No veggie curry, though, weirdly
Clinton's a nice guy but not really suited to in depth analysis or critical scrutiny. The producer must have thought: "Well, if BT Sport can employ John Hartson and Robbie Savage..." High-brow by comparison.
On the plus side, he's not Michael Owen. Makes a nice change to have someone who's not connected to the usual suspects, too.
Anyone listen to Radio 2? There's been a lot of comments in radio-related groups about the Radio 2 playlist recently, so wondering if others have the same opinion that the playlist has been going down in quality for a while, but more recently has just fallen off a cliff. The argument is to keep things up do date by including recent releases but I would argue that is a flawed approach anyway because (1) Radio 1 should be for that sort of thing and (2) if they are looking to a new younger audience then they are getting into a demographic that just isn't going to listen to Radio 2 whatever they play (my 14 year old for instance just doesn't listen to the radio at all and gets his "music" elsewhere). Sure in the past they've always moved on and played lesser old stuff, but I think they're in danger of losing their audience because they're trying to appeal to listeners who aren't there. I really don't want to hear this new crap but I do want to check my prejudices against someone else's opinion. When Chris Evans stopped doing to breakfast show I went with him to Virgin, not because l'm a big fan of Chris Evans but because Virgin play better music.
Some of the more "easy going" stuff on Radio 1 should find its way onto Radio 2 from time to time. More significantly, what is the expected age demographic for Radio 2 ?? If you say 50-60, then that is a demographic which had as the music of their formative years : Punk, New Wave, Two Tone, Synth pop, Indie, Hip-Hop / Electro, Rave. IMHO that is quite a more diverse background than expected for Radio 1. FWIW, as a 50 something I find 6Music to be more aligned to the above than whatever Radio 2 is playing.
