On the BBC website story regarding Chris Evans leaving Radio 2, it reveals the Top 10 Earners at the BBC...... In 2016-17 Alan Shearer earned over £400,000 per year of our money! FFS, the guy's a ****ing idiot and one of the worst pundits in football.
I wouldn't say that he's one of the worst pundits, but he's painfully average, at best. Tedious, lacking insight, devoid of charisma, plus he's utterly biased and not in a charming or jokey way, either. I don't think I've ever heard him say anything that made me think, but he's not as bad as Michael Owen or Jim Beglin, for example.
I hate Owen more but I can choose whether to pay to listen to him drone on. I forget Beglin, which means that he doesn't irritate me too badly. Tony Gale is up there as is Chris Sutton and Owen Hargreaves. I hate Ruud Gullit but for me, Shearer is absolutely awful and second only to Owen.
Tony Gale annoys the **** out of me, but it's mainly because he gets so many of our games. It seems to be him or Alan Smith an incredible amount of the time, but at least the lanky Goon tries to be impartial. Gale doesn't even attempt to hide his bias, which is often hilarious as he's forced to watch us win, again.
