The video says best free kick of all time. Nope. This was (Actually the Roberto Carlos one v France is)
I had the privilege to see a number of Hoddle's world class free kicks. I wouldn't be surprised if one of them was actually the world's best. Sadly in those days, most of them weren't filmed. I remember the anticipation in the crowd that if we got a free kick in that position then Hoddle would simply score it - like a long penalty. Such a shame that most of his brilliance was never recorded, or indeed in these World Cup times that he didn't get more than 50-ish caps. Sounds a lot, but he should have got twice that number.
My nephew's on BBC2 tonight on the 'Teenagers v Cancer' Horizon series. We're all very proud of him and he's doing well- he's the tall [surprise, surprise] skinny fella called Harry who has Hodgkin's Lymphoma.
Cheers. He was in his first year at Cambridge, studying maths. It's been hell on wheels on his siblings and parents. It didn't stop them calling hm Gollum when nearly all his hair fell out.
Very much. He's a very nice bloke. Was spotted as a possible fashion model by one of the big agencies but just laughed it off as ridiculous. I told him thaat he could have been rich and he said he wasn't interested. His sister and brother are just as nice, which is a bit of a shock, as they're related to me.
MIA : the lord of Berkshire (the "sunshine" state) known as Spurcat. I assume the club have locked him away during the Bale transfer negotiations, lest one misplaced "what have you done to your hair" remark derail the whole thing.
