As the centenary of Walter Tull's death was yesterday, here's an article about how he came to be our first black professional http://www.wsc.co.uk/features/14077...s-pioneering-tour-gave-walter-tull-his-chance
We beat Expensive Stoke and Saltypool with him in charge this season, so here's hoping for more "evidence" for the conspiracy theorists!
Me too!!!!! What a great feeling to get that done! Just sorted half an hour ago. This looks like the view from my seat, by the way! What section are you in? (I'm in 111.) And it's also very similar to my old seat at WHL.
On second thoughts, I think you're at the other end, after all. And nearer the front. I'll give you a shout on match days. You can wave back. I'll be the one in the white shirt.......!!!!!
Haha yeah I'm block 209, row 9. Wanted to be a part of the single tier and the fact it's also where I practically sat at WHL makes it an added bonus. Only downside for me is that while a number of mates have also got seats in the same block, my best mates and Cousin are in phase 7 and I'm not anticipating them having much luck being able to get in the same block as me. There's still a bunch of seats very high up and very low down but with two phases before them, I'd imagine they'll all eventually go.
I was lucky. My added bonus was that I managed to get my single seat next to my four friends who'd booked on an earlier phase!!! (Maybe no-one else wanted to sit next to them??) I hope your phase 7 friends/relations have the same good fortune.
The FA Cup semi-final tickets are going to be season-ticket only and even that's not enough. 33,325 for us and 33,411 for the 2nd team in Manchester, which still leaves about 23,000 for others. Won't somebody think of the neutrals?!
Depending on loyalty points, members were eligible for FAC semi final tickets last year against Chelsea and when we played Portsmouth a few years earlier. Given it is now pretty much impossible for a member to get a semi final ticket, then it will be interesting to see how the club markets membership for next season and also how much the charge is.
Ticket allocation quotas are an archaic throwback, probably to days before TV sport, when membership of the FA provided access to key events - the pinnacle being the key FA Cup games. Unfortunately, as with almost everything connected to the FA, there is no desire to address these disparities in the modern world. So the opportunity to get a stadium full of committed fans of the competing clubs is lost.
I don't even mind some of the tickets going to the FA, but it shouldn't be anywhere close to the individual club quotas. We're getting a little over a third each and random people are getting over a quarter. That's nonsense. Season ticket holders at both clubs will miss out so that someone at another random club can go. The allocation for the final is even lower, IIRC.
Don't people who bought Wembley Stadium Club Memberships get tickets for semi-finals and the final? I'm pretty sure that they do.
Another reason for reverting to FA Cup SFs at a neutral ground, unless two big London clubs draw each other in the SFs (which was the rationale for holding the Spurs/Goons FA Cup SFs in the 1990s at Wembley) .
