... and that's just while you wait for the VAR decision...

  2. Talking about VAR (again).......

FIFA supporting the use of VAR at the WC. Really??? Whatever the rights and wrongs of the technology - and I am in the camp that there should be that facility when proven - it just ain’t ready!
To say otherwise and recommend its use in the biggest tournament in the world before its even been adopted in national leagues is just ludicrous. And with its well documented history of shady dealing, there has to be some serious cash behind the FIFA decision.

And the BBC in its summing up of the midweek VAR travesty at Wembley state...
‘28 February - Erik Lamela's goal for Spurs was ruled out for a foul. Later, Tottenham were awarded a free-kick outside the penalty area, only for a spot-kick to be given after another VAR ruling. The penalty was converted but disallowed after Son Heung-min was adjudged to have stopped in his run-up before shooting.’

Totally avoiding mentioning that the Lamela goal was legitimate, a clear penalty against Lucas wasn’t given and disallowed penalty decision was also erroneous.

Our future, safe in their hands! <doh>

I still support the concept of VAR, but it needs to be more transparent, i.e. a transcript of the conversation displayed on the screens and run by people who understand the rules.

But as I posted on another thread, l'arse don't have an easy fix. When you have to bring in 6 or 7 players, they don't always gel.

Clearly wenger has lost the dressing room the players just aren't performing and it amazes me how Ozil gets all that money each week when he does feck all maybe their other players think we'll he don't give a ****e why should we .

Ozil is another DOF, he plays well when the other players are performing, but goes to sleep when up against it, no balls.

Yannick Carrasco, Nicolas Gaitan and Jose Fonet made their Chinese Super League debuts for Dalian Yifang today.

    It did not go well...

Massive achievement at the time to run a four minute mile - which is hard to grasp nowadays as it is so routine.

VAR is certainly required, but not as currently implemented. I've said it several times but they must put a timer on it. Basically you give a minute (or whatever) to overturn the refs decision. If the VAR guy can't decide within this time period then the incident is obviously too close to call so the original decision stands. It might help if the senior ref is on the VAR and the guy in the middle just does the running about. This would give a job to the more experienced refs when they get retired from the middle.

And RIP to my son's hamster who just died. This is not intended as a comment on any others who have died recently, it's just a fact.

Actually astonished they didn't use Citizen Kane. I mean, it's right ****ing there. Someone's even made the poster already!

If only it was one of the good Die Hard movies

    ...sorry, I'll try that again...

If only it was the good Die Hard movie. You know, the first one, because the rest are varying degrees of complete ****ing garbage.

    From the BBC:

Football Association chief Martin Glenn has been accused of using "offensive" language by comparing the Star of David with symbols such as the Nazi swastika.

Glenn was discussing Manchester City's Spanish manager Pep Guardiola, who has been wearing a yellow ribbon in support of imprisoned politicians in Catalonia.

    He said

"But things that are going to be highly divisive, and that could be strong religious symbols - it could be the Star of David, it could the hammer and sickle, it could be a swastika, anything like Robert Mugabe on your shirt - these are the things we don't want."

How much longer do we have to suffer this ****ing idiot?

I dunno but I doubt that we'll be playing any international friendlies against Israel any time soon, given that this is their shirt badge...

Is it a necessity for the Chief Executive of the FA to be a big mouth ****ing incompetent? How he survived the Mark Sampson racism debacle, I shall never understand.
