Sadly Bill Nicholson Way is no more with all the demolition and construction. Are they planning to commemorate him in the new stadium? A stand or statue maybe?
If you are going down to Lewes there are a few things that you should know. 1) Celebrations are on the 4th not the fifth this year because the fifth is a Sunday. 2) Southern Railways will not be stopping at Lewes that day. 3) The Police close the town to traffic at about 15:00 and it is very difficult to find parking. I would advise you arrive early morning. 4) To enter the firesite, where the fireworks are discharged, you will need a ticket, which are not easy to come by on the day. If I was in the UK I could organise you and Mrs Brian tickets but as I am not it might take a trip to Lewes beforehand. The John Harvey Tavern, the Gardeners Arms and The Dorset Arms are the normal ticket outlets for the Cliffe Bonfire Society, The Elephant and Castle for Commercial Square and I'm afraid I don't know where the other societies sell their tickets from. However, Cliffe and Commercial are probably the best and Cliffe are far better than Commercial say's I, but I would say that because I am biased. 5) History has taught publicans to be very fickle on Bonfire night. Most pubs are open but often its a side-door thing in the evening where they are choosey who they let in. Another good reason for arriving in the morning. Get to know one or two pub landlords at lunch-time and you should be OK for the evening. Having said that don't go empty handed, a couple of bottles of wine are very nice for the firesite. 6) There are fireworks discharged in the streets. It is not ideal for small children. Lewesians have an unwritten code of practice that a firework must be discharged on the ground as it poses less danger, fireworks thrown into the air take peoples eyes out. However, there is no guarantee that a firework discharged on the ground won't hurt someone. Many people, particularly those involved in the processions, have holes in their legs the following morning. I still have many scars collected over the years. And if you choose to take fireworks and discharge them, remember it is illegal and the Police will arrest you if they see you. I would advise against a member of the crowd taking fireworks, it would be asking for trouble. I hope the Deedub guide to bonfire helps, if you do get down there, Enjoy.
Do we really know the true Daniel Levy? This is from Real Madrid President, Fiorentino Perez.......... “He always goes for the top [amount], we have become friends because of the time it took us to sign Luka Modric and Gareth Bale." “Every time we win a European title, he sends me the same message: ‘Congratulations for the European title you have won with my players.'" Top bloke.
“Every time we win a European title, he sends me the same message: ‘Congratulations for the European title you have won with my players (has that triggered some more contract bonus payment clauses to Spurs ?? ) . '" < Levy >
Pretending they didn't take Ronaldo and aren't coming back for De Gea ain't gonna stop it being so.......
Not necessarily. Mourinho loves a Raiola client and Donnarumma might fancy a move, if Milan don't make the Champions League.
I've been convinced he was joining them in every transfer window for the past 3 years (at least). I wonder why he has stayed. It would be understandable if he left - Real Madrid can match or better his wages, he presently has a far better chance of winning major trophies and he would be going back home. I'm baffled.
No big spending by Madrid in the last window, either. Maybe they're just happy with Navas? Played a blinder against us.
I saw an excellent documentary which explained what an enormous influence he has on modern music. He invented a big chunk of rock'n'roll.
You need to open your profile menu (usually top right hand corner where your avatar/picture is), then select 'Preferences', then the second point under the heading 'Options' you'll see an option to receive email notifications whenever anyone you've ever interacted with on here farts. Untick that box, hit 'save/apply changes' and Bill Nic's your uncle.
