After Thursdays's debacle, I am not going to laugh any other club until we have come through tomorrow with 3 points. Furthermore, as Chelsea still have us and Leicester in their remaining games, from our point of view, their season is not over.
I see your point but today saw the end of the Chelsea that won the league in 2005. This lot are a very pale imitation of that team. Everton played like we do, pressuring them all over the pitch. They didn't like it and Costa got himself sent off as they went down. We would have won at WHL had we not taken our first team to Godknowswhereistan to play Qarabag just before. The game at their place is there to be won by us. If we play with heart and drive and real commitment then I can only see us winning against this team. It's long overdue and M. Pochettino and the team have to make it happen.
No chance of beating Dortmund so rest the top players for improved Bournemouth. Should be three points but Spurs struggled a bit today.
I'd have to mostly agree. 3-1, maybe a small chance. 3-0! I'm sorry, I just can't see it. However, that doesn't mean that we should just put out a team of inexperienced kids to get put through the ringer and humiliated by Borrusia.
I agree, and we all know Poch will probably see the Dortmund game as over, so will save players for next Sunday. Meanwhile, I will remain niggled that he threw the game on Thursday. As I have said before, after chucking the COC, after piddling about with the FAC and now slinging the Europa in, he better bloody well deliver in the PL between now and the end of the season.
You obviously have a better viewpoint than the average poster OS, but I firmly believe that Poch only decided to 'chuck' the Dortmund game after we'd dropped 4 points in the league. This, combined with the reality that they are an excellent side probably better than us in most departments, left him with little choice but to prioritise the league. If we'd taken 4 points out of the two London derbies instead of 1, I'm convinced we would've seen a stronger team on Thursday.
If anyone is struggling to get tickets for WBA, the club are doing match breaks (1 night B&B + ticket from 119 quid) expensive I know but it's there if anyone wants it. I guess that you don't have to use the B&B.
My heart tells me a Dele Alli worldy and "echoes of glory" . My head tells me it will probably be like the Real Madrid WHL game in 2011. If Pochettino is fully ditching the tie, then if Bentaleb is not injured he must get a full 90 mins. We need all the MF fully fit for the PL run-in, as the intensity needed to overwhelm what will be very stubborn opposition from now onwards will IMHO not be possible with some of the recent line-ups.
I thought Erik, Lamela and Alli would have been more effective behind Kane yesterday but it didn't seem that way. Spurs struggled to find the net against villa.
A lot to do with how well their keeper played. Keepers always seem to do well against us, perhaps it's because we give them more shots to save.
Still feel Spurs lacked that cutting edge deedub, should have buried them in the first half as it was they nearly let Villa back in.
I'm more worried about the lack on concentration in the last 15 minutes rather than the failure to score a hat-full in the first 30. On another day the post and the crossbar wont save the opposition and we won't come up against too many keepers who will play a good as Guizan.
Read a stat yesterday that we've hit the woodwork more than any other team this season. Wouldn't surprise me if we've also been the main reason behind goalies being awarded a new contract.
