Wembley chosen for the Euro 2020 final, proving just how much UEFA hate English football.

On the other hand, it does look like a fine piece of backscratching. The DFB's bid for Munich to host the final was pulled at the last minute, and it's pretty clear why this happened: the DFB would back Wembley for the 2020 final in exchange for The FA backing Germany for the 2024 tournament. This month's WSC, published at the end of last week, predicted this is exactly what would happen.

Why does Benny get a 3 match ban and a £50K fine and Sagbo only a £15K fine? The fine I can understand if it is about one week's wages for each of them but why no ban?

Considering how Blatter shafted him by reneging on an agreement to stand aside and allow Platini a free run at the FIFA presidency, it's almost as if he sees it as compensation.

Thank you Luke.Old Cloughie! What a character....and ready to get in the ring with Ali.Nobody messed with him and his discipline won him championships. So different to Revie at Leeds who encouraged poor gamesmanship and was a perpetual runner-up even with his players!
As with Bill Nick,we all had time for Matt Busby.Great man.Great character.

I do believe that Munich was the making of Man U.Never off the front page after that awful disaster!
Still can't understand why they let that plane takeoff in those conditions.......I still have the Daily Mirror reporting the accident in my souvenirs.

    Agree with you totally.

Without the tragedy of Munich, Utd would be another middle ranking provincial club. A Lancastrian Sheffield Wednesday.

I see a lot of similarities between the philosophies of Nicholson and Busby. Proud Scots with an eye for talent, character and discipline - long before the likes of Clough, Robson or Graham succeeded by the same methods. Perhaps that's why a feel an affinity with your club :emoticon-0105-wink:

Bill Nick was a Yorkshireman, not a Scot!

  9. Seems to prove what we have all believed for years..... That the French Moral Compass has never been particularly accurate.... Admitting that it is part of the national psyche to accept bribes!!!

In one way you just hope there has been some form of mis-translation, but in your heart you know he meant it!!

Watched a summary clip of the Real Madrid game.
Apart from one comedy episode, nothing much Deportivo could have done about
the other goals (all seven of them) .

    "Take your pick"

If Holtby was a Man Utd player in a match at OT during the reign of Fergie, the correct answer would be :

Player in blue sent off for intentional strike to the opponents' genital area

Not a good weekend with Sutton as well as Spurs losing, and both playing ****e.Like Spurs any chances Sutton had were Wasted, but Sutton did have an excuse, they lost 3 strikers before the gamselling one another being forced to retire because of a recurring injury, then the 3rd getting injured before the game,oh well fa cup next weekend, hope fully we can get a little run in that,£4,500 pounds for the winner of the match!
