I was hoping someone is aware of a different plan for this scenario (lest we encounter it again) .

Rodriguez doesn't look like he fits into the Madrid setup.
You sense there is too much of a CR7/Bale pissing contest up front to
allow him to do what he does best.

I agree. What says it all is that Bale doesn't take the free kicks. Ronaldo is good at them, don't get me wrong. And he's still the better player. But Bale was much better at free kicks his last year with us than Ronaldo was at Real last year.

James could get lost in the mix very easily, especially if Jese comes back strong.

Opening a mod selection to the public vote? Madness! The selection of moderators is supposed to be a sacred event where the current moderators fast and drink only warm cider until they can only remember one name out of the nominees(this often requires sobering up a bit as we tend to forget what we're supposed to be doing after a day or two).

I would let Bale take free kicks from the right side of the box (his better side IMHO) .

As for CR7s' ego, the one thing that cannot be denied is that the appearance of the new Madrid
"superstar" is met in response by the raising of his game to show who is in charge.
As with Bale last season, so I expect similar with Rodriguez.

Well you were both drunk on cider.

Nah, lets allow them to believe you counted the votes and that's how I was picked.

Lord Sugar is tipping Arsenal to be title contenders this season and others think that this is the dawn of a new successful era for them, sadly I think I have to agree. Last season saw their first triumph for 8 years or so and the amazing "coincidence" of the statistics in last year's FA Cup also tells me this.

I have to agree too, can't see a weak spot in their team at the moment, except perhaps Szczesny.

Our only hope is that they get unlucky with injuries.

Giroud and Arteta/Flamini/Wilshere are weaknesses in my opinion. They are very light in Centre Half if they don't buy. However if they keep Ramsay and Walcott fit, Ozil gets back to where he was when he joined and Sanchez delivers in EPL, then they are way too good for us this year. If they buy a top striker and DM, then they could win the league.

Ok YID, this was pointed out on another site. Wigan scored in the 4th minute and then the 8th. 4 is half of 8. Arsenal scored in the 17th minute, 1+7 = 8. Then in the 71st minute, 7+1 = 8. 2-2 at half time, multiply = 4 which is half of 8. Then Arsenal scored the winner in the 109th minute and either way you look at it it's 8. 1-0=1-9=-8, or 9-0=9-1=8. Number 16 which is double 8 scored the winner on the 17th of May 1+7 again is 8 and it was what an 8 year drought to win Wenger's 8th trophy. Interesting. Wigan were pre destined to lose that and it could spark the start of an Arsenal era.

I agree with that. Giroud is good but not great, Arteta has seen his best days, Flamini just dives into tackles, Wilshere is always injured and also the most overrated English football. But if they do keep Ramsay (on this current form) and Walcott fit then adding that on top of what they already have, they could be definite title challengers. For some reason I still don't see them topping City or Chelsea this season, even with additions but if Wenger keeps the core of stars then they may just be a genuine threat in a season or two... Unfortunately.

Democracy is like communism. They're both nice ideas in theory, but terrible in practice.
Give me a nice old fashioned dictatorship any day.
