Does any one remember "The Spurs" pub on Great Cambridge Road?
They had a cockerel in Spurs kit as a sign outside and very large paintings of Spurs games inside.
My thought....when the pub closed what happened to all that nostalgia?Did Spurs get any of it?

Yes, I remember the SPURS pub and the smashing pub sign. I remember the shock one day when passing to see it gone. I don't think the pub closed then, did it? I seem to remember some boring name taking over, like 'The Cambridge'. No idea what happened to the memorabilia. Didn't there used to be a fun cockerel sign at the Cheshunt training ground facing the Great Cambridge Road also? What happened to that? Perhaps Spurcat knows, it could be at our latest state of the art training ground now!:biggrin:
 
Yes,it did become "another pub" for a while.The name escapes me.I used to live over a boot shop at 460b Lordship Lane with the whole family!I remember my granddad used The Spurs and mum and grandmum would have to dash over there on Friday to get the housekeeping money before he drank it all!!!!
Although I lived in Cheshunt for some years I don't recall that sign there,but I didn't go to the Brookfield Lane ground.My stepdad did though.
I bet they regretted selling the place.I know the players used to look forward to visiting it!!!!
 
It wouldn't have been had he been attacked would it? Football rivalries can cause violence and threats of it, not by all but certainly by some fanatics. Gerrard was threatened ahead of the Swansea match. That fan was causing needless agitation.
 
I'm just pointing out the lengths some fans will go to and just giving that as an example. Some rival fans hate the other club so much that wearing the rivals' shirt COULD be seen as provocation. Come and join me in my weird world, I'm sure it's more fun than your dull one.
 
....nah, I'll give that one miss, you must live on your nerves all the time, I don't need a heart attack worrying about what could happen...could get run over by a bus, struck by lightening. He wore a goon shirt for a laugh, it didn't have "and I've shagged all your mums" on it. You need to chill a bit mate.
