Off topic question guys but I'm planning to be in London for the Villa game. Looking to bring the missus and two kids.

There are a bunch of tickets available on Stubhub.ie for 2 separate areas in the Shortside Upper for approx €84 each ( £73 ) - anyone know if Stubhub are decent these days? Or any other recommendations?

    Thank you.

If you could please indulge me one final comment on my daughter’s achievements, it is that she was born 14 weeks prematurely. It’s a miracle she’s even here!
Had she gone full term, she would be in the year below at school.

I think we possibly have the easiest draw of the English teams.

    Happy Silksong Day everybody!

Now, if Steam could not crash due to approximately 5% of the world's population using their servers to launch the game at the exact same time...

On this day in 1888, Accrington Stanley, Aston Villa, Blackburn Rovers, Bolton Wanderers, Burnley, Derby County, Everton, Notts County, PNE, Stoke City. WBA and Wolverhampton Wanderers played the first league games.
Not a Southern team in sight.
As usual, the North led and the South followed.

Terrified Northerners claiming credit for a Scottish invention, then corrupting it.
It wasn't Accrington Stanley, by the way, it was just Accrington. Different team.

Not relevant, but Blackburn Rovers weren't the first team from Blackburn to win a trophy.
Oxford University and Royal Engineers have won more major trophies than Fulham.

The Southern teams were there you just couldn't see them through the smoke from all those chimneys.

    There were no Yorkshire teams.
Half the teams were from (then) Lancashire, the remainder from the Midlands.
It’s a lesson in social history.
These were the main industrial areas - cotton was king and engineering was advancing in the Midlands.
Organised sport, music (brass bands) and other social activities were needed to keep the large workforces content and occupied outside of work.
It’s no surprise that professional football would develop in these areas.
Many of the greatest scientific and technological developments took place here too.
