There's a fabulous Gene Wilder documentary on Netflix (or Prime, but I think Netflix). They pitched the film to the 'money men', who loved the money from Blazing Saddles and The Producers, so couldn't get their cheque books out quick enough... ...it was only as Brooks and Wilder were leaving the room that they let slip... ..."Oh yes, it'll all be shot in black and white". And that's all a long lead into the fact that I'm going to a Halloween party as 'black and white Boris Karloff Frankenstein'... "Dressed up like a million-dollar trouper Trying hard to look like Gary Cooper (super duper) Come, let's mix where Rockefellers Walk with sticks or umbrellas in their mitts Puttin' on the Ritz"
An arrest has been made in 'The Great Cheese Robbery'. I hope the suspect has a good brie...f Got my coat...
RIP Janey Godley Best known for mimicking Nicola Sturgeon and calling Trump a ****. (Not a bad epitaph at all). She had a very difficult start to life and a cruel protracted end, but was a quite indefatigable personality.
Tony Todd, probably best known for playing the hook-handed, bee covered Candyman, has died at the age of 69. There are mixed reports on the cause at the moment with some claiming natural causes and others saying it was cancer. RIP. The man had an amazing voice.
An incredible moment in television history. I was out with friends on Thursday and Anne casually offered up that her mum made outfits for all of the Blackadder series. If my mum had done that, I'd probably have it tattoed on my face.
Very sad - but what a great age and a great life! RIP Prunella has fairly advanced altzheimers, hasn't she? That may lessen her particular loss (hopefully)
Whilst there is no question that he should be punished for his stupid comments, I am unsure as to why his club is being punished and not his country as he was on international duty at the time and was playing under FIFAs jurisdiction and not the premier leagues. His ban should from FIFA (and possibly UEFA) competitions for Uruguay (Spurs in Europe) and he should be fined the maximum the PFA allows and should intend further diversity training and do some work in the community.
Yeah I don't think he's the answer for the role he's been given. Decent player but needs to play in a deeper pivot alongside a traditional DM to be effective imo. Funnily enough if he'd been next to Wanyama or Dier in Poch's team, I think he would have bossed it as a deep playmaker. But I do worry that Ange's system asks way too much from certain positions. Whoever plays at CM has to protect the defence, get moves going, join attacking moves and also stop the opposition from breaking our press. It's lovely on paper but as I said to DH the other say, the level of player we'd need to play that role well is someone like Rodri, Kimmich or Tchouameni and let's be honest even if we could afford that calibre of player, they'd never come to Spurs.
Agree, Ange should be tweaking the system to get more out of certain players or get rid of them and bring in ones that fit it. Problem is it asks so much that those players are unrealistic.
