they have pretty much no control over the internal workings of Pl though iirc they have a "golden share" but can only remember it being mentioned since the PL formation was during the ESL fiasco .
The Football Association (The FA) The FA is the national governing body for football in England and is responsible for sanctioning competition Rule Books, including the Premier League’s, and regulating on-field matters. It also organises The FA Cup competition, in which the 20 Premier League Member Clubs compete. The FA is also a special shareholder of the Premier League. Whilst it has no role in the day-to-day running of the Premier League, The FA’s special share means that certain actions can only be taken with its approval, such as the appointment and re-appointment of Premier League Board Directors. Each year, the Premier League submits its rules to The FA for approval and sanction. For the Premier League, The FA ensures that throughout the season the Laws of the Game are applied on the field and that the rules and regulations concerned with running football in England are observed by officials, club and players off the pitch as well as on it. The FA also deals with all matters of on and off-field discipline. Other areas of collaboration with The FA are refereeing (joint funding partners with the EFL of Professional Match Game Officials Limited (PGMOL), Youth Development, and the UK’s largest sports charity, the Football Foundation.
Can I ask (And I am guilty of this) to keep politics to the Politics thread. Not all of our posters want to get involved in political discussion and some don't want to see it. Many people use sport as a refuge from day to day concerns. I know it can be difficult because football and politics are often intertwined but if we keep this stuff to the Politics Thread as far as we can it enables posters to avoid the subject. This is a suggestion from me as an individual not a Mod action.
That monstrosity at marble arch was the biggest arse stain on our capital since the arse built the library
RIP the delectable Annabel Giles, who died yesterday at the ridiculously young age of 64. I carried a torch for her beauty, grace and sparkling sense of humour for nearly 40 years. She left the media and retrained as a counsellor, which marks her out as an all round credit to the human race, in my book. I will miss that she's no longer around.
RIP indeed! Lovely lady as you say - and when you see the 'good' people (as I regard them anyway) paying their respects, that impression gets confirmed.
WTAF!! How the living **** is this not online racist abuse of the most blatant and horrid type.? X/Twitter is a cesspool - and it stems from the man at the top!
Exlax removed the safety team and left it in the hands of bots to sort out, and clearly the bots were only programmed to recognise the most obvious slurs and deem everything else to be perfectly fine, which is why Islamophobia goes unchecked as bots can't detect comments which are less dogwhistles and more a ****ing foghorn Not to be confused with why Twitter turns a blind eye to transphobia, which is because Exlax encourages it hence he lets Chaya Raichik be a domestic terrorist in his platform and congratulates her for it
The twatter handle that's cut off at the top is Friendly Neighborhood White Advocate. That's an American spelling on the second word, rather tellingly. A quick search for a few related things reveals a very similar email address to his @. That doxes the **** out of him completely, including his real name, address and court records. I doubt that I'm the only one that noticed that. Oops!
National treasure is a term bandied about all to easily, Happy Birthday to a true National treasure Billy Connolly
I love this Christmas advert, it puts the old sh*t from the usual suspects to shame , love the song by Birdy, the fact it has a little brown dog just like mine who passed this year and at the end the quote by WB Yeats There are no strangers here, Only friends you haven't yet met
