Truly shocked, about Trevor Francis, he was a great player, and always seemed a very decent person too. Did a good job at QPR and at Sheff Wed as a manager and was good on co-comms on sky often on Monday night football. RIP
Fabulous finish. Shame there was no ****er there to see it! 14,170, apparently. They must've all been at the bar.
Joe Lewis up on insider trading charges in the USA, Kane saga dragging on washed out Asia tour and no sign yet of any CBs Ange must be on the phone to his agent asking if there are any get out clauses Welcome to Tottenham
I wonder what kind of excuses the ENIC IN brigade and anti change mob will come up with this time, they have been preaching to us for years about how squeaky clean and whiter than white our owners are. https://hotspurhq.com/2023/07/26/to...-just-got-the-kerosene-they-were-looking-for/
Owned by a crook, you say? Alasdair Gold will be at a Bayern press conference brandishing a Spurs shirt with Joshua Kimmich's name on it by lunchtime We're playing with the big boys now, lads! No they haven't , as Lewis' involvement in Black Friday comes up regularly As per usual, the ENIC Out headbangers will find a way to make sure people ignore them within 72 hours, usually by picking all the worst arguments and weakening their position faster than Keir Starmer when asked about his environmental policies
His header against Malmo will always be his zenith moment (still unsure as to whether twas a fluke contact or intended ) . As for commentary, why he appeared so little is puzzling considering he was neutral and had real insight.
I can't recall any post in here saying that Lewis was a good guy. What is true and will remain true even if Lewis is convicted is that none of our growth will have been funded by criminally obtained money as the charges are about him tipping shares which others bought. In any case, hardly any capital has been provided by ENIC.
There's also the irony that the charges don't even line up with the usual EeeynIcK owT headbangers' opinion of Lewis, as technically the charges come from him sharing the wealth with other people instead of pocketing all the potential wealth for himself Of course, if that happens to sound uncannily like an antisemitic trope and happens to be posted on Twitter by somebody using UKIP's colour scheme, it's a complete coincidence...
However, if he is convicted there will be big changes at ENIC which is probably destabilising so this is not a good development however you look at it.
It's worth remembering (not least because the nation's press certainly bloody haven't...) that Lewis gave up his significant control at Spurs last year, so there would be far less of a destabilising effect at Spurs
They have probably known this was coming for years, which was why Lewis handed over the reigns to his daughter or whoever it was. This is still major news though, I wonder how sponsors will view being associated with this, with Lewis dragging the name of the club through yet more mud after Levy and the ESL, furloughing of staff etc etc.
