Big win tonight

Stoke are **** away. One of the worst in the league. They won 10 and only lost 5 at home last season, but only won 3 and lost 15 away last season. That trend doesn't look like it's stopped.

So whilst they suck at away (and Sunderland proved that) at home they're extremely difficult to beat. I wouldn't take any notice of that result against the mackems at all.

 

I don't share your optimism.


Don't get me wrong, I think we'll be tough to beat against most this season, but Stoke's home record is daunting.

 

Daunting yes. However I think we have strength in all the right places to get a result here. Our usual weak area at fullback should barely get knocked on tonight and as we saw against wolves there are few better at clearing crosses as saylor and colo atm. If we play on the counter - especially with the likes of Marv and hba to bring on I think we can kill them off like quite a few of the big teams are able to do. Soak it up, let them run out of ideas and use our pace and passing game to go for the win. They close down well and try to stop teams playing at the brittannia but if the crowd get behind the lads I think we have the spirit to keep out unbeaten run going.

I used to have you on ignore for being overly negative constantly, did somone hit you on the head or something?

 

I honestly don't know. If we pass the ball about nicely and put them under pressure we can get at least a draw.

If we under perform and Stoke put us under a lot of pressure, we will be very happy with a draw

 

Stoke are very hard to beat at home so i'm not too hopefull.

However, Pulis has been complaining today about having to play in Israel midweek before another game on sunday, so maybe they will take their eyes of the ball a bit tonight thinking about upcoming games? Hope so anyway!

No wonder we lost. Jonas and Enrique both went off, we lacked any sort of depth, and Pardew thought Campbell would help us

Stoke were lucky to win by such a margin, but we were utter ****e.

1st goal - Campbell mistimes a header and lets them in for a free header on goal.

2nd goal - Harper waits too long to kick the ball away and gets caught out.

3rd goal - ****ty free kick that got through the wall.

4th goal - By Fuller, who should have been off the pitch for kicking Barton.
