The truth tends to be a predictable thing Sky as its there for everybody to see.

I'm not against Liverpool genuinely, I like Lallana and I rate Clyne more than Walker. Henderson is ****e though

    Ah I get ya :)
Yeah JT seemed to be our manager under AVB.
Only through necessity though, because the manager didn't have a ****ing clue.
If the same is happening now with England, then its the FA's fault for hiring a ****ing no-mark.

I even thought Rooney's post match interview seemed more management like than Sam's <laugh>

Joke of a nation when it comes to football.

How did Allardyce watch the Euros and think, "Hey, I don't even need to change anything. That was great!"?
I think that I know the answer:

Does anyone on here truly think that our problems lie solely with the players and/or manager?

English football is ****ed from top to bottom, and until we actually address that, we'll continue to achieve jack ****.

English football needs some work, but the national team isn't even as good as the sum of it's parts.
The players need to be treated as what they are, rather than being part of the coaching staff.
They're ****ing players and they should be happy if they're called up. They shouldn't be picking the team and tactics.

I honestly don't think that the manager's free to make squad selections, anyway.
The sponsors seem to have a say and the same mistakes are made, regardless of who's in charge.

Is the quality really there ? When you look at the best teams in the premier league, all of the top players are foreign.

    It's all about money, mate.

The football has become almost incidental to how much money controlling bodies, clubs, sponsors, agents, Uncle Tom Cobbley and all and all, can make from it.

    That's the sad truth...

They're not ****ing Finnish though, are they?
England have enough good players to compete at a far higher level than the team currently plays at.
The last qualification campaign wasn't actually that bad, but the best systems were abandoned if favour of utter ****e, for some reason.

I was about to disagree with your first sentence, as I read it as 'Finished' <laugh>

Yes, they should be better than they are. The classic example is Greece, when they won the Euro's. They did it with no outstanding quality players, but a lot of determination and a great game plan.

There's too much hype around England, at the moment we are an average team. We need to get back to basics and have a proper game plan built on the abilities of the players that we have got.

England playing like Greece would go down terribly, though. It should, too. It worked, but it was ****e.
Why don't they try playing like a Premier League side? Seems simple enough, doesn't it?
Pick players on form, who aren't crocked and play them in position. Rocket surgery.

Sadly I think you are right.

I think we need to rip up the whole blueprint and start again. English football at youth level is still obsessed with winning at all costs meaning we still go for pace and power over skill and technical ability.

A few things I think would make a big difference:

    - Stop keeping league tables for ages 12 and under.

    - Maybe even mix up the age groups and keep them at a similar weight level, this will stop the more gifted players not looking as good (to us <doh ) as the quicker developers physically.

    - Banning parents from the touchline in similar age groups.

    - Getting more qualified coaches and finding a way to make it more afforfable for people.

    - Bring in a quota for the PL specifying a set amount of eligible players in match day squads.

More but I can't be ****ed for now. Sorry for the mini rant <ok>

    None will happen anyway.

People can see we have decent players and we do but how many are comfortable on the ball in tight situations? Hardly any even when compared to average nations.

We're so far behind the likes of Germany it's ****ing frightening.

It was ****e, but it was effective. It was like the Maureen approach to international football.

I agree about picking players on form, why Drinkwater and Noble aren't in this England team is a mystery.
