Same thing as Pearson going favorite. More of a measure of opinion poll than the likely hood. Wouldn't say it means nothing. If Short is clued up enough it should speak volumes to him about what the majority of what fans want. With Sam and Pearson bing the front runner. Tells me fans want some spirit and soul back at the club. Tactics only takes a team so far but spirit, especial for a team in our situation goes a long long way. Lets face it, Big Sam and Pearson are hardly master practitioners, probably the weakest point of both managers. But they get player running through walls for them and that's something SAFC fan have always fed off. For our situation i'll be happy with either of them. Two candidates that cover the area I personally think is most important for us. Spines are built from players with backbone.
I read that at the moment he has no ambition to go to another club. I'm just hoping this is a smoke screen because I would think if they knew he was coming straight to us they would want compensation......wasn't something similar happened with Pullis and they sued him?
Seems a very strange decision to me to completely stop his management career only a couple of days after the season ended. Maybe I'm thinking into it too much but hope there's nothing sinister going on.
I think the only thing Sam will be in charge of now is getting the drinks in at his villa in Spain or wherever it is. I don't blame him for quitting at 62 it must be a hell of a stressful job.
I wouldn't give up hope just yet about Big Sham, he's hardly to be trusted on what he says, going by his track record.
