So to summarize the rumours: DJ Campbell - bid in, ongoing negotiations and still possible Sharp - impossible + emergency loan highly unlikely Gedo/Fahti - SB has admitted "interest" in an Egyptian player on RH but declined to add any more info & says "nothing doing" so far Elmo - May come back depending on MON's signings Fraizer Campbell - going to Cardiff
People have been over this a million times, but you can get dispensation for players for a variety of reasons; I'm sure we can find one if we had to. In any case, I'd say Gedo was much more likely.
Our own rules? Be happy to look at these rules which say FIFA regulations are subordinate to them. The FIFA regs apply to all clubs in all federations, otherwise you'd have mercenary style players playing for the highest bidders. playing for 5-6 teams a season. Cleary you know of a set of riles that every club in engkand aren't aware of. Post the link to these rules and im sure various people on here will use their sources pass to them onto the club... Sharp cannot play for a 3rd club using the emergency loan rule and there is absolutely no way on this earth that city will seek to rely upon that at all.
So lets say that you are correct which you are not. How do you explain the fact that we have put a bid in for a player that has already played for 2 clubs one of those clubs being an emergency loan? IE DJ Campbell. Please, explain how you are correct, everyone else is wrong, and you know better than steve bruce, and everyone who works in english football. Do you really think they do not understand the rules?
Tigercity - that pretty much sums up the 25 posts so far! And tommyis right too. The loan rule doesn't work but that's not to say that there aren't other avenues.....
Waiting for someone to bite on that one. Or is there really a player called Chris Woods at Leicester? Could get very confusing with Chris Wood.
Haha, I read it and changed my response accordingly. As I said on another thread, Sharp wasn't mentioned on the list I saw a couple of weeks back, but Gedo definitely was. As was David Nugent (also very unlikely), DJ Campbell, Frazier Campbell and some Dutch guy I'd never heard of. I'm not sure whether we've bid for him on loan and the amount mentioned was a loan fee, but it seems too small to be a transfer fee and too large to be a loan fee. Fun fact though, in the Summer, before we got Quinn, we were after Barry Maguire, who is Irish but Dutch. Sounds Irish, born in Holland. Looks Irish, speaks like a Dutchman!
Dj hasn't played for 2 clubs in games that would mean he's caught by art 5.3 We're clearly not going to agree elle -you have your view of the rules, I know I'm right on mine ;-) However, whilst we can't use the emergency loan route, there are other ways around 5.3 but i can't see us using them (given that they are suspect at best) for sharp. If it was messi or Ronaldo maybe, but not sharp!!
that's better Tommy! Much more like it. (got really confused then as I couldn't see an "edited" tag. Started doubting my sanity until I read your later post!).
Given how some people are getting their knickers in a twist over this and the other sharp thread, the genuine laugh out loud response that evoked was welcome!!!! Well played Craig sir, well played
Nugent ?................... No chance of getting him chaps tho DJ Cambell sounds feasable but wouldn't wish him on you...... He's just a greedy journeyman !
How many times does this need going over? You can play for 2 clubs on long term deals and others on emergency loans per season. So Elmo has played for us and Sunderland on long term deals this season, but DJ Campbell has only played for QPR, because he was on an emergency loan at Ipswich. Billy Sharp could come on an emergency loan (that only lasts 83 days) with a view to a permanent in summer. AFAIK there is no such thing as a. loan from the Premier League without a recall clause.
