Genuine question, Is he good enough? I mean, 2 Premier league games (for Southampton) and "average" championship clubs in Donny and Forrest. We certainly need a goal scorer but is he the answer?
Any competitive appearance counts if it's a for your permanent club or a long term loan. He was at Ipswich on an emergency loan therefore is able to move elsewhere permanently or on a half season loan. But he can't go out on emergency loan as I believe he used up his 93 days emergency loan period at Ipswich.
To be honest, I think Bruce can't wait to have Matty Fryatt back. Imagine having him, Sharp and Campbell as a front 3 with Simpson or Proschwitz in the wings.
Billy Sharp scores goals, that's what he does and the vast majority are poachers goals from the sort of chances we create(d). I don't think I'd spunk a big fee on him, but as a loanee, it would be a no brainer. I think it's just unfounded gossip though.
Yea I guess you are right. I didnt realise it was only an emergency loan as I knew he had played 17 games for them. I could have swore that the cup didnt count but I guess I am wrong about that.
How many times do we have to go over this ? Two clubs per season with a third permitting an emergency loan no chance of a permanent
I think Bruce said they had a few people they were looking at getting. Although Palace fans certainly think he is going to them.
Apparently this has been a "long-running interest" for Sharp and that City and QPR are still in talks for Campbell , and that a bid of about £1-1.3million has been lodged.
In short as simple as it can get: In England, a player can make competitive appearances for 2 long term clubs (permanent, or half/full season loan) and spend up to a maximum of 93 days, with each loan period being a minimum of 28 day, on emergency loan at any number of clubs as they are classed as short term and don't count towards the maximum of 2 long term clubs. That is it, we don't use fifas ruling in England, we have our own system. Anyone who tells you otherwise is wrong. Can this please be stickied?
Fettis is spot on. Article 5.3 of FIFA regulations (http://www.fifa.com/mm/document/affederation/administration/01/06/30/78/statusinhalt_en_122007.pdf) on status and transfer of players mean there is no chance that city will be buying sharp. Zero, none, nada, zip, diddly squat, fa-hook a-hall.
