So, if some Sheikh who had no personal interest in our club was to invest say £1b and in the 2016/2017 season we went on to win the Premiership with no British players in the whole squad, would you support that move?
I would be interested to know deep down how we would feel about this proposition and how easily we could be bought? If we have any non-Canaries visiting the same question would be applied to their respective club. Man City fans are obviously excluded as they have already visited this particular well.
If someone could set up a poll that might be intersting if there is enough interest. Thank you
 
Honest answer - as everyone else is doing it (well, a good few), I would support it. I really miss the early 90's when we were right up there, competing for the top places every season (although falling short most of the time). It was far better than what we have now, or any other time in history - so more of the same would be fantastic <ok>
 
Difficult question. We all want our club(s) to be successful, win trophies, compete in Europe, etc.
But at what cost? If it was changing the name of the club (Hull Tigers) or changing the colour of the shirt on a whim or a superstition (Cardiff) then I'd say bog off.
But fans of those clubs presumably welcomed the initial investment from overseas - the 'baggage' that comes along with it was only made apparent after the takeovers were completed, as far as I know.

Conversely, you have those muppets at Blackpool, who couldn't even field a full team at the start of the season because of that clown Oyston running them in to the ground.

Given those two 'worst case scenarios' is it OK to stick (with Delia and MWJ) rather than twist (i.e. piss into the wind and hope you get a good 'un?) <yikes>

Well, yes - I would not want that part of the deal, but there is no reason to think it is more likely than not. The two examples (Hull and Cardiff) are the only two that have attracted seriously mentally ill owners.
 
It's a 'no brainer' for me I'm afraid - I would far rather stay as we are and hopefully get the players to actually start playing the way we know they can do and flit in and out of the PL. IMO, it's not totally the players' fault, but more a case of some being played out of position/or not in their favoured position and I'm sure a few would agree that Rusty is NOT a CB!!!!

I'm also not advocating that we change the manager (not yet anyway!!), but if we haven't started to string some good results together by Jan, then I hope the board will act more quickly this season.

PLEASE, PLEASE don't let us go down the route of thinking nothing of buying a player costing £50M+ and paying them £200K a week - that would DEFINITELY make me give up my season ticket (I probably wouldn't be able to afford it anyway!!!)

There's a rumour on twitter (see separate thread) suggesting Mike Phelan as first team coach may well be imminent ? <ok>

I think this would be an excellent appointment. I've always rated the guy and his experience/advice would be invaluable for Neil Adams.

Exactly Cromer, it is at what cost we are prepared tp pay and I am with JR on this one and respect that we are where in an honest way. Buying success is kind of hollow I would guess and very transient if the cash moves on somewhere else.

There was the debacle at Birmingham with Yeung (?) leaving them in a mess with a transfer embargo to deal with, and then than dodgy Shinawatra (?) Thai fella who was done for fraud / embezzlement I seem to recall?
In other words, be careful what you wish for, the grass isn't always greener ....and any other old cliché that seems appropriate <laugh>

I'd support the move if I thought there were garantees of success. But with only a billion there arn't so I would be hesitant but still go for it.

Firstly Delia et al will not be here forever and we won't know what we'll get then anyway.
Secondly, if he's going to invest somewhere then I'd rather be moaning about Messi missing a sitter for us than for scoring 4 against us. And perish the thought that they may buy the binners instead and they could stop living in the past!
and who wouldn't want to see exceptional football played by exceptional players at carrow rd?
In an ideal world we would rise to the top with not just british players but local lads, but even were the quality coming through, lets face it, most who are really good will ultimatedly move on for bigger and better things. So whilst I'd love the Murphy's to grace the PL and to win a title with NCFC, it isn't gonna happen!
Others have made valid points about our identity and I wouldn't want any changes to our shirt colour and name, but the ground name etc fine we should have sold that already, we'd all still call it Carrow rd ourselves anyway.
assuming we then won the PL it would feel a little dirty, but the warm afterglow of victory after victory would soon vanquish any regret.

Seriously, all titles are now bought, so why not one for lil ole Narrich?

All of the above is not to say that I am not happy with having a well run football club with fans for owners, it's all just chapters in the clubs history and a PL title would definitely be a chapter worth seeing!

Obviously we all want the club to win the Premier League and play the best football ever seen but personally I wouldn't want that if it meant sacrificing the identity of the club. I don't want to start with the 'football has become a business and is now ruined' rant as I'd be here all day, I also understand that with the changes occuring in football we have to adapt, but personally I'd like to see the club hang on to as much of it's identity and , for want of a better word, morals as we can...for at least a while longer.

Also, the johnny come lately fans that we'd attain would be a f*cking nightmare!
 
I have always wanted a Brazilian player to wear the yellow and green so if selling out to a billionaire and having Neymar or Oscar playing for us and Champions league football I would not mind one bit.
If it was a Vincent Tan type or a consortium of dodgy investors or the Glazer approach where they mortgage the ground etc then no.
 
In answer to Thurnbys question, with that scenario, nobody should be pretending that when being in that position they would pine for Championship football and scratching around with very little hope of winning anything of note, forever.

Anyone who says otherwise is a liar or have such little imagination that they cannot truly contemplate it

It would be ****ing amazing.
