KR says in his latest presser that he didn't expect Dodoo to be as good as he actually is. Since he said it with a straight face I assume that he expected Dodoo to be crap, which shows how much input he had into this signing.
As a Charlton fan, you do want to try to like Robinson, but I have never, ever known a manager speak so much bullsh1t. About everything.
KR said some great things about Dodoo when he arrived, about how much pace he had, how he would get in behind defenders, but now it seems he hadn't actually seen him, so it was all whistling in the dark. Seems to me we are in a lose/lose situation with Dodoo: if he plays well Rangers will be able to sell him, if not we're relying on Magennis to play 90 minutes of every game.
Do you imagine Robinson went to Meire on 1 January and said "Get me the final piece in my jigsaw - Joe Dodoo"
I try to ignore this guy when he talks, but yes, this just makes it seem as if he never saw him play, or had much desire for input in his signing.
As long as he wins matches he can talk as much bullshit as he likes. I think we will lose at Gillingham and the **** will start hitting the fan.
KR doesn't do himself any favours. After signing Joe Dodoo he said "We'll try and improve the player" WTF he's not even an option to buy. so unless he produces from now till January, he's of no great benefit to the Club.
I just wish he (KR) would cut out the needless hyperbole. Remember what he said about Tony Watt every team in the League wanted him - it turned out that a team in the Belgian 2nd tier with a ground like Wellings was the only one that actually did. After 3 cameos, I think most fans have sussed that Dodoo is doo do ..but why do you think Rangers didn't want him ?
He does a great job for the regime as the mouthpiece/lightning rod, when you consider the alternative. I don't know how he doesn't lose his voice
Never known anyone talk so much utter ****e. All this "talent" on the bench - is he talking about Ahearne-Grant ?
Yes. "Should've, would've, could've..." Didn't. We all know he talks a good fight. But Charlton lost the match. A long time ago I stopped listening to the people who currently own and run CAFC. Only their actions count for anything. We are still 6th, with winnable games coming up against Bury and Walsall. So don't just talk the talk Gaffer - get the results. We can all get back to playing pretend happy families later, if it's really that important.
On the way home we were wondering how he'd talk his way out of it. AHLL said that he'd say we should have won but missed our chances.. I say the Gills won because they were the better of 2 poor teams.
Seriously Abnormal is claiming that we had 22 shots yesterday How many of them tested the Gills keeper? 21 of those shots were either off target, or at 2mph straight at their keeper.
Are you talking about that DoDo shot I said to FHB at the time that it was more like a backpass not a shot DoDo was just outside the box with no Gillingham player near him and that was the best he could do??
