This is how conspiracy theories grow, Chinese whispers. No one said the Fridge "Exploded" but that sort of ****e grows arms and legs and suddenly everyone is an expert in fire safety regulations etc. Peaksy for example, the pretence of being a dude but actually attended Charterhouse, and ended up as a ****nugget with **** for brains.

I do think that there are people out there that would burn down a building in order to build new apartments at a massive profit.

This area of Kensington is mega expensive .

"Whilst he may be a roadman indeed, there is something fishy about this. The land around that area is MADLY expensive. The cladding seemed to propagate the fire, the fire alarms and sprinklers didn't activate/were turned off and there were signs put on the block's notice board that said 'in case of fire, do not leave'. All seems a bit funny to me."

Chinese whispers again, fire alarms and sprinklers "Turned off", there were no sprinklers to turn off and the alarm was just very quiet. This guy also knows the cladding seemed to be to blame??? These people are ****ing idiots.

They would have had to have paid the guy whose fridge started it though.

I'd like to offer an opposing point of view. There are not people out there who would burn down a residential tower block so that new apartments could be built.

If it is easier to suspect "them" "they" and "those" of mass murder than accept this was an accident then off you go, nowt I'll say will stop you.

And as far as that area of Kensington goes it has been a sh*thole ever since I lived there but is right up against some of the most expensive real estate in the world. Go one way and it is Councilville head the other way and you are a hop skip and jump from Holland Park, as swanky as swanky gets. To take your point though I have previously explained how property prices have increased since the 80's.

Arson for profit is nothing new, doubtless been used by loads of people over the years trying to claim on house or car insurance but the example you have given is for damage to property, not potential mass murder in a multi-storey residential block. I don't think the Grenfell fire was deliberate and certainly not carried out by property speculators hoping for a patch of real estate to build on.

More Chinese whispers - it's all a big Government cover-up because Lily Allen says so.

The stupid three nippled cow. Of course there are more than 17 dead, the official tally is already up to 30 but you don't go around guessing at how many you think there will be or plucking numbers out the air. If they had started off saying there would be 1000 dead bodies piled up in the burning ashes of the building she'd probably be blaming the Government for scare mongering.

She should stick to singing. Then again ....

Ive posted about a landlord who set fire to a residential building whilst people slept in it.

So the thing you said doesn't happen does actually happen.

Councils do cleanse areas, they're doing it just now in the Sandy Row which is right in town but they're building a bus station and removing a bridge not incinerating the residents.

Until the Council can afford to re-house the tenants and buy out the leaseholders from the residents on the estate it will stay there until all the other blocks burn down. Its jammed into the space between the Westway, West Cross route and the Hammersmith & City line, not the greatest plot of land when built as the whole area was one big scrap metal yard. It's been tarted up a lot now with some of the old warehouses converted to chi chi offices (often used as film locations for The Apprentice), a bit more Tiffany & Co than Steptoe & Son which was filmed on the same estate. True story.

With house prices so high in London it would be a tasty prospect if the pesky residents weren't there so maybe Peaky is on to something......

Just as a footnote the opening credits of 70's TV detective show Hazel had an aerial shot of the car driving South down from Bramley Road heading to St Anne's Road. Co-written by Terry Venables who also played for and later managed QPR. There used to be film studios based in Barlby Road so a lot of shows were filmed around there including Hazel, Steptoe, The Bill, Minder etc. No need to thank me.
