I think the players had lost faith in the system. They would have been listening to pundits everywhere saying the "man to man" marking is not working and something needs to change. It had to get into their heads. Bielsa refused point blank to make any amendments to his system and the players just kept getting thrashed every week. I hope to see a renewed effort with a new manager, I have no doubt that the team are better than at least 3 others and I think we can stay up.

I think it's the idea pf they who scream the loudest get heard the most. I noticed that the 'Bielsa United' crowd were pretty quiet on Twitter yesterday afternoon and midweek when we were getting carved apart by Spurs and Liverpool but as soon as he's gone they're all up in arms crying.

Other clubs more often than not get the ‘new manager bounce’.

It would be typical Leeds if our change of manager has the opposite effect.

I’ve been sitting thinking about the solicitor part and the slight delay in the announcement…. I’m purely guessing, I’d imagine the board offered Bielsa by “mutual consent” and being a man of honour he said no. If you’re sacking me have the balls to admit it, I don’t want anyone thinking I turned my back in a moment of need.

Rads announcement makes it crystal clear it was his decision

It's funny I kinda feels like at the end of a relationship.

It was good to begin with then it went down hill and now we've broken up I feels kind of hollow.

I sit hit harping on about the wonder days of Grayson but I didn't feel this hollow when Bates sacked him

Marcelo, thanks for 3 great years, thanks for bringing hope and belief back to our club.

Have a good rest, see your family. You will always be in our hearts, and welcome back with open arms to Leeds and Leeds United.

In my humble opinion, i to was expecting defeats from those top clubs, so no surprises their, however it was not just the defeats it was the manner of them which raised my blood pressure, As their appears to be no fight/togetherness in the team anymore, the players literally seem to give up and are thinking like the fans oh sh** how many more, and let's be honest here were making the same mistakes time and again which is not being addressed by Bielsa, carry on along the same road it would be relegation i'm afraid.
Just to add, I love Bielsa and always will, but i love Leeds Utd even more.
I am genuinely saddened by what is going on, but can't see any way out atm but to change the coach, and not sure if that will work either as usual with Leeds we appear to have left it to late. :(

Well that is that. A great and honourable man departs whilst you guys are still above the drop zone and playing 3 of the big 6 with arguably your 2 best players out.

I expect to see you guys drop now considering large parts of your team are actually championship standard but the coach has them playing with all their heart.

Surprised at your clubs response, i thought a club who had lost their way finally has a man, who has got them back on track, got the community together and brought back attacking football with the atmosphere of how footie used to be gets dropped just like that at the first signs of trouble (not even terminal yet).

Seems you boys are just like any other mercenary pl club.

I thought the players always gave their all tbh. They just weren’t good enough against the top teams - which isn’t their fault.

There are certain games that are now must win; especially home v Norwich, away at Watford, and the last game of the season at Brentford. Let's remember we should have Phillips, Cooper and Bamford back soon, so will pick up a few points here and there (hopefully). The team just needs to tighten up, players in their correct positions, and not be scared to use the likes Hjelde, Gelhardt, Cresswell and Summerville so other players can catch their breathe.

Getting rid of Bielsa is the best thing the club could do.

It's done now and so that's that.

We have to move on quickly and just don't have the time for reflection or contemplation.

Our new coach will no doubt be at TA tomorrow and so we all march on together.

Although it might mean a proper striker/finisher would be on the cards next season.

Well I hope all you Bielsa moaners are happy. <grr> I hope the players have a good look at themselves in the mirror. I'm disgusted that the club have sacked him. He should have been given those 12 games to try and save us from relegation. Watch the rats leave the sinking ship. It's a dark day in our history. Bring on the next poor ****er who will have to put up with all the negativity from here. twatter and fb.:(
