Leeds are in 3rd with 82pts and a very good chance of winning the playoffs. I wouldn't call that a disaster...
Whatever people think of Bielsa, he showed a real touch of class today against Villa. Incredible sporting gesture. Hope they win the play-off now.
Villa player goes down from an innocuous challenge, not with a head injury and everyone goes mental when they score. Don’t get the reaction. Play to the whistle.
Play to the whistle. **** all this snowflakey fair play ****. If the ref believes the game needs to be stopped, he’ll stop it.
I don't think that was necessarily it. It was the gesture from the Leeds left winger which gave the impression he was kicking it out and all the Villa players stopped. It ends up with the Leeds forward who then goes for goal. That is why Bielsa signalled to allow the equaliser.
Nowt wrong with not kicking the ball out. Alot wrong with pretending to, although Villa should have played to the whistle. but if Leeds hadnt have allowed the equaliser their popularity would have taken another slap. Should a team stand back and allow anybody to score, even under circumstances like these? Is it not a form of match fixing? If I'd have had £100 on a Leeds 1-0 win I wouldnt have been happy. Bamford comes off worse out of the lot of them. He deserves to have to withstand a ceremonial wedgie in the centre circle before every league game for his antics.
Bit of a different perspective - how many times have you watched a game at home and either been losing or drawing and the opposition team start wasting time by going down pretending to be injured and your players end up kicking it out of play and then everyone booing? I've seen it countless times in the past few years and it destroys momentum. If you didn't feel totally obliged to put it out of play then the fakers on the opposite team wouldn't go down as that could risk the opposition scoring with a man down. Worth a thought! Only go out if a player's foot has turn 180 degrees imo. Serious injuries.
I don't think teams should put the ball out. It is up to the ref to stop the game. However feigning putting the ball out then going all out to score is just dodgy as ****.
Patrick Bamford has been handed a two-match ban by the FA for 'successfully deceiving a match official' during Leeds' controversial 1-1 draw with Aston Villa last weekend. The striker went down under minimal contact during a confrontation with Anwar El Ghazi during the second half at Elland Road, with the Villa winger being sent off as a result. However, El Ghazi's dismissal was overturned following an appeal by Villa, and Bamford has been punished instead. He will miss Leeds' game against Ipswich on Sunday, and the first leg of the play-off semi-final.
His comments about the song before the match were pretty funny, too: “It’s good fun. Being a Chelsea player there was always a rivalry with Leeds. Didn’t play them that much because we were in the Premier League”
Could be worse - you could be this Leeds fan who had "play off winners 2019" tattooed. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/uk-en...s-united-fan-gets-play-off-premonition-tattoo Is the same idiot that got the "England World Cup Champions 2018" done
