.Leicester City have launched a bid for Hull City defender Jack Hobbs, Sky Sports understands.
Hobbs has just returned from a hugely impressive loan spell at Nottingham Forest who wanted to secure his signature on a permanent deal - but they have failed to agree terms with Hull.
The Tigers recalled Hobbs last week to cover for an injury to James Chester, but the centre-back is now set to leave this week.
Steve Bruce has confirmed that both Reading and Wigan have been given permission to speak to Hobbs, who is out of contract at the KC Stadium at the end of the season.
However, Leicester have now entered the race and made a bid for the 25-year-old.
Interesting.
Well I would rather him over Whitbread and SSL, regardless of whether we stay in the Championship or are in the Premiership next season.
Pearson obviously thinks higher of Hobbs than Bruse does if he's looking to buy for a possible prem season.Depends on how far into discussion with Wigan and Reading he has got though, might be all but signed up for one of them.Beasty
Leicester are in, we've ****ed this one.
Its believed that they have said this so that they can sell him, they had to say something like this to get him back from his season long loan at Forest. This is interesting http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/25881720
Hull might not want to sell if they need him as cover (maybe swap with SSL?) and Forest might still have first option.
