A lottery winner’s luck seemed to have run out when he wrote off his £100,000 black Bentley Continental GT after getting stuck in floods.
But mega-rich Robert Johnson, 65, shrugged off the loss – and splashed out on a new Mercedes.The management consultant, who scooped £5million in 2008, ploughed into 3ft of water as he drove to a business meeting on Wednesday.
He rang the AA but a patrol was unable to rescue the stranded vehicle and it was left to the mercy of floods on the outskirts of Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire.
From his modest cottage, Robert said: “I don’t know what all the fuss is about, it’s just a flooded Bentley.
"I’ve gone out and got a new car. Job done.”
