And drinking's bad for you and smoking's bad for you and going with loose women is risky too.

So if i dont drink, dont gamble, dont smoke or go with loose women then i can live to be a hundred?? But what would be the point?

If you've never been in Ladbrokes after blowing nearly all your wages and your betting on the last- a seller at Pontefract- to get your money back then you wont get it. But if you have the thrills fukin fantastic.

You need to be a lot more careful with it now than you used to be. Apparently the bookies have been making the terms of their offers quite fiddly so it's easier to **** it up now. (I've not got into it yet, I just noticed they had a consultation through his blog about whether that section of the forum should continue or not)

Yeah, that discussion about whther it should be on there or not has been going on for years. I stopped doing it a couple of years ago when I graduated as I'd signed up to 100's of online bookies and the reload offers weren't really worth my time.
I know when I stopped it was a lot harder to make as much money as when I started due to the shear volume of people doing it and the bookies tightening up on both offers and the terms and conditions.

It reached a peak recently because the offers being put in by people were so complicated the forum staff couldn't work out whether it was risk free or not, which the original concept was. Obviously they only want the risk free things on there.

Like you say, for people who've done it all once it'll be a lot harder to make the big money. You can definitely still make a killing off it as a beginner, I just thought I'd mention it so people knew they had to be really really careful with it.

I've done a small amount before, Grand National time is a good time because the offers get better. I was about £200 up before the race even started the other year, and had each way bets on 30 of the 40 horses. I've got 3 months off in the summer so I'm going to look at it properly then, set up the spreadsheets, and then take them to the cleaners.

I got the Everton-Sunderland result which was nice, and Schumacher is poised in 4th tomorrow which is a massive step-up from last season, out-qualifying his team-mate which has probably upset a lot of F1 geeks (count myself as one) hoping for rain or problems for the first three so he can get his first podium since his return.

The only suspect prediction I made was Notts County to beat Sheff Wednesday. All of the others should have come off <grr>

(Though Spurs/Bolton is obviously off and Wolves/Man United is tomorrow)

Man Utd will beat Wolves tomorrow, thanks to Fergie giving up on Europe by playing a crap team the other night. Haven't checked odds for that but probably no value at all. I have to be honest and say I only follow English football in the first two tiers really unless we go down one, follow world football too but can't comment at all on League One or Two.
