I would be concerned by any takeover, but the fact is, as Kevin Keegan said, there will never be any real stability at Newcastle as long as Fat Boy and his sidekick are there. We're just waiting for the next bizarre decision to come along.

    This <ok>
we are all aware of Mikes mistakes in the past
but he has came out (through other people) to admit this.
The club seems to be making a little progress on the communication front with us,
we are significantly developing our Youth setup with prime example being outstanding performance of 16year old Centre Half in the reserves against Arsenal.
We have broke even from debt.
GRAHAM CARR approves Mr Ashley...yes he is employed by him but the bloke that brought Tiote and Arfa to toon you just have to listen to him.

I am a long long way off from trusting Ashley fully, but we could do a hell of a lot worse.
For now until the Premier League sort out the way foreign ownership of clubs take place or until something local and mega rich meterialises Im with BFM <ok>

It doesn't matter what it sounds like. The club had lots of debt, and that had to be sorted out. It had to be able to support itself instead of requiring additional income, investment and loans from external sources. It's what ANY club aspires to have.

How can you say that for sure though? What if the foreign owner (or any new owner) ended up worse than Venky's and pulled the club apart once again? There's ALWAYS always going to be that risk with a new owner (unless the new owner has had a successful experience in football and knows what the crack is, so to speak). Things are looking decent at the moment, and the better they look, the more weary I'd be of a new owner. It's not like we're at rock bottom and things couldn't get any worse. They could be a LOT worse.

Sorry, but I don't think Hughton has been THAT great or god-like as some people suggest. He did lead us back into the EPL in amazing fashion, but the fact is that we had a team of mostly top quality EPL players in the first place, so unless we had a manager who was ****, it was always going to look like we were heading back up. All Hughton really had to do was be a competent manager and maintain a good team spirit - something any decent manager should do naturally.

Put it this way - he hardly lead a team of sure-to-fail misfits against the championship elite, did he?

Anyway, as people have said, summer will be the BIG test to see how Ashley is now. It will probably be the biggest test since he took over. If he does things right, he could be starting the new season as a manager which is now actually respected and appreciated by fans. If he does it the wrong way, he will be more hated than ever.

Im sure Pardew and Lambias have both claimed this but at the same time said we will have to continue to 'live well within our means' for a few years so we do not go back into debt
