After di Fredsta's epic betting find I thought it may be interesting to see if we could get a thread going for similar opportunities. I've been scouring the football bets for similar winning odds :)

Although such a much up by a bookie is very rare I'm sure we've all seen bets which are highly likely to happen yet have great odds.

So how about a thread for any future finds of 100% win bets or extremely likely with good odds bets <ok>

I rarely bet and tend to go for stupid ones or off opposing sites where it's win win :)

I'm normally one to bet on something I dont want to happen so if it does I win money so it's a win-win anyway. How much are you winning on Sunday anyway? I know someone who's put about a grand on it so WH could be getting a loss come Sunday :D

Put 250 on split 83% 17%. It's all good :)

LOL When I used to go watch the hammers I'd always bet against them for exactly the same reason.

I will be keeping my eyes on this thread for the foreseeable future

Yeah.. I've just had an email from WH themselves. Saying something about taking the bet off or changing odds of it?

[TD="colspan: 2"]Dear Sir/Madam

We are unfortunately writing to apologise for a display error that occurred on the William Hill website for the Number Of Ferrari Points in the Italian GP today being released as 42.5 in error. The price was inadvertently displayed as 17/20 and as such the price on your bet is incorrect.

For a period, Under 42.5 was priced at 17/20. The price should have been captured at 1/100.

We apologise for the error and any inconvenience caused. As I’m sure you’ll understand, we make every effort to maintain high levels of accuracy throughout the site at all times. Unfortunately mistakes do happen and in these instances we have rules in place and we have to settle according to those rules.

As this was our mistake, we are going to settle your selection at the best genuine price available in the market at the time your bet was placed. In this case that was 1/100. Any over payment will be deducted from your account.

For further information regarding our procedure towards errors, please see our Terms and Conditions at http://www.williamhill.com

If you have any further queries regarding your bet on the above competition or any other subject please contact our Customer Services department on UK freephone 0800 085 6296, International freephone 00800 3551 3551, or by e-mail at [email protected].

We again apologise for any inconvenience you’ve suffered as a result of our error.

Best of luck

Sincerely

This is the email that I got, I've sent about 4 or 5 to them and got nothing back, I'm thinking about ringing them soon if I get nothing by tomorrow.

1/100! Balls would it have been those odds. Wouldn't have made the other bet either if it had!

Was my first ever bet with them so maybe its why they have yet to deal with me, don't want to loose me <laugh>

I'll send them a email once they decide whats happening!

Dear Bruce,
I placed the bet in question on Thursday morning, and noticed it said 'DNS' next to the bet on Thursday afternoon. I also noticed that the bet had been removed from the list of available bets. If you knew about the error then why did it take until after the race for this email to come through?
If you did indeed make an error, why did the bet appear in the first place, do you not check your systems before posting the bet online? Also, if I placed an incorrect stake, I would not be able
to change it at the last minute because I would be losing money. I find these actions wholly unacceptable and unethical. I placed two linking bets but yet was not given the option to cancel or amend either despite your own editing of the agreement. I also find the new odds offered not at all in line with what I would have expected, especially given the odds of a Ferrari one two being no where near the opposite of 1/100.
I hope you come to honour the original agreement, especially given the trivial amounts
involved for a organisations like William Hill.
Regards,

Hmmm, its like that is it.

hiding behind rule 18. they know they are in the wrong. I have asked for evidence of the 100/1 odds existing and also clarification of 'obvious Error' as mistaking 17/20 for 1/100 seems far-fetched... No response as of this morning...

I'm going to give it a bit so I can speak to someone different. Anyone remember what the odds for a Ferrari 1,2 was? Couldn't have been anywhere near 100/1 surely?

Its not like the odds were obscene, the original offering was basically evens.
