Following last night here are my thoughts

Best team now
Either goalie on current form
Caulker plus Hall with Lynch and Ned as backup
Bidwell on the left
Kakay on the right as our typical opponent is not as good as last nights so let's see how he gets on as he defended OK and got forwards well - we might as well!
2 of the 4 of Sandro Cousins, Luongo and Borysiuk in central mid
Wszolek on one side as he can tackle hold the ball, he gets back and can use his head. Looks solid. Try him in front of Kakay as cover
Bidwell likes to stay back so put someone who likes to get forwards in front of him
Syllas as target man - BFG last 20
Luongo Chery behind him - Washinton as backup last 20
Shopido on last 20 to run at them - probably down the left with Bidwell behind him
Or as Jimmy said of last night

gritty, hungry, honest and hardworking (& I'll add "with some pace")

I'm not a Caulker fan. Just don't trust him to concentrate for 90 minutes. I think Lynch and Hall together given a run would be good. Also think Onuoha, as the quickest of the lot, could be used for certain games.

I'd also like to see Kakay given a run but then I wanted the same for Harriman and Furlong so not holding my breath.

Borysiuk has to play IMO. He's an upgrade on Henry and allows the rest of the midfield to be more offensive.

I would currently choose the following team:

----------------------Smithies-----------------------
---Kakay------Lynch-----Hall-------Bidwell----
-------------Borysiuk------Luongo----------------
----Wszolek--------Chery-----Washington--
------------------------Sylla------------------------

Every one is playing to their natural position, plus we have a strong bench. However, I have dropped our Captain.

It is good to have options, but the best team will be formation that gets the results, which means to have the vision and tactics to adapt. The role and impact of the manager, as well as the leader on the pitch, in this cannot be under-estimated. I remember Mourinho once saying "I am the most important player in the team".

Until a new player dominates the Henry role as well as he does it then he has to stay
I can't think of a better player that has served our club for many a year
Yes he is very limited but we have seen how bad our defence ideas are recently
The Dutchman is feeling his way and it's better at last to let him flow
This is a crazy league and most teams apart from Norwich will be on the end of a tonking home or away

A bollard could do the Henry role more effectively at the moment.

We are all guessing
To be frank
We just want win win win
We are a small club with a terrible recent history and the past victories and successes is all we have in our religion of QPR
We must try and adopt stability at least for a few seasons even if that is finishing one above the drop each year
This realisation and mindset can only help a QPR fan IMO
Henry will be gone soon enough
Look at our team sheet now it's mind blowing from where we were
From Bosingwa to Kakay

When I read get back Colin or SM my heart sinks

A club that has had our crisis points doesn't just recover that easily

We at last have hoops and a decent crest let those seeds grow
To grow our own peas beats Captain Birdseye everytime IMO

I'd go along with this line-up. Onuoha shouldn't be an automatic starter and Henry should be fifth choice CM imo.

Stroller. I agree with you.

However I would bet that Ned and Henry will feature in the starting eleven on Saturday. But, I would love to be wrong.
Even better would be for JFH to surprise with whatever selection which plays well and comfortably WINS!!! :)

Luongo needs to be no.10

I would like to see him play for us in that position, but it is a BIG call to drop Chery.

Unfortunately, I feel we wasted a great opportunity with the Sunderland match by playing El Khayati who played poorly. It was a great chance to test Luongo in what is his natural position in the Australian team. C'est la vie!

Playing El Khayatti at all is a waste

I think away from home a three of Luongo, Cousins and Borysiuk would be best. Chery is becoming too much of a luxury imo and needs to put more in away.

We have a good choice of defensive midfielders (Borysiuk, Cousins and, plus Henry and even Sandro). Of those Luongo can play upfront and I would like us to use him more in that position, especially as a no.10.

We also now the players to try 4-4-2 or even 4-3-3 formations.

But I agree, Borysiuk and Cousin should be a good combination and I would like to see how. Will we see it this Saturday? I somehow doubt it.

How about 4-2-3-1 - it worked in 2010/11.

If we do go 4-4-2 not sure if we can afford the luxury of Chery in a free role behind the striker

Wingers need to be able to push on to support the strikers and track back to support the full backs - hopefully the fitness regime will help this. Luongo and Borysiuk to provide the steel in midfield

New boys need to start and get a run in the side...

We're not going to win the league - we're unlikely to make the playoffs. We'll take a few scalps and have some setbacks, I think we need to accept where we are.

SMITHIES

KAKAY---CAULKER---HALL---BIDWELL

LUONGO---BORYSIUK

WZOLEK---CHERY---SHODIPO

I like the teams in both formations, plus there is the option of fine tuning them with the back up's.
Let's admit that it is not rocket science but observation of the facts and simple analysis.

I just hope that JFH will have the courage to try such a team.

I don't think it will make much difference what team is put out. They're all much of a muchness imo and JFH doesn't seem to be able to get any team playing 4-2-3-1 correctly regardless of the starting 11.
Whoever starts, we're pretty crap!

We're pretty unfit too. The team ran out of steam and was blowing out of it's arse after an hour the other night.

Nines, the fitness level is a great worry. What happened to the high pressing tactics?

I hope that have a few energy drinks before todays match.

I read one theory that the players train too hard and are overcooked by match day.

Whatever it is, people can't simultaneously lament poor fitness then clamour for Sandro who had no pre-season and was playing like an obese accountant at five-a-side for the last half hour on Wednesday.
