Assuming we're Championship and offload the high earners: GK: Mannone/Guzan LB: Bertrand/Dawson CB: Hobbs/Ayala CB: Gerrard/Chester RB: Rosenior/Halford CM: Danns/Cairney with a rocket up his arse CM: Evans/Harper LW: Stewart ACM: Koren/Barmby - very lazy 2nd striker role so Barmby could do it for 90 minutes every now and hen RW: Ajose/McLean/Belaid or Devitt - Ajose is Stewart's cover so McLean and Belaid/Devitt provide the cover for both wingers ST: Fryatt/Simpson/Iwelumo For other tactics: RM: Garcia - for more orthodox 442 ST: Will Keane - very Solskjaeresque striker but needs a strike partner. Yeah it's another Man u youth but he'd develop a lot working with the likes of Koren and Barmby everyday and we'd get a really intelligent supersub Plus obviously the likes of Akpan, Cooper and Cullen on the fringes trying to get into first team consideration, possibly with August-January loans at lower Championship clubs. That means completing permanent deals for: Guzan Hobbs Gerrard Halford Danns Evans Iwelumo - not in Burnley first team but gives us a different option. Should be doable within ã5M (assuming we don't get fleeced by Leicester or Pompey) leaving us able to have a total wage bill of upto ã15M again (ã16M parachute payment plus natural break even wage bill of about ã4.5M). I don't expect that squad to have that wage bill, we'll just have to make a profit to go towards the academy site, or the purchase of the stadium, or converting our loanees into permanent deals early. And long term loans (all hopefully with view to permanent if we get promoted) for: Mannone Bertrand - with Halford, Rosenior and Dawson competing for the starting berths it might need to be someone like van Aanholt instead so there's less pressure to play them every week. Ayala - out of contract next summer but allows Liverpool to keep the option of extending his deal until January when we could have first refusal to sign him if they decide he can go (other clubs won't be able to speak to him until March/April) Nicky Ajose Will Keane
