Thatcher, not just for the Falklands but for sorting out the mess Labour left the country in when she took over in 1979 (sounds rather familiar doesn't it). Bliar shouldn't be on this list - traitor, murderer, war criminal and George W Bush's love monkey. That bastard should be hanged for his crimes.

    Thatcher:

    Murderer - Falklands War
    War Criminal - The Belgrano
    Poodle - Ronald Reagan

Over three million unemployed (unofficially 4m+), council houses sold off and none of the money given to the councils, communities destroyed, people working for £1.25 per hour in the late 80s, the poll tax etc.

Got the champagne on ice for when the old cow cops it <ok>

How can anyone compare the Falklands War to the Iraq invasion. The Falklands War was about freeing British sovereign territory and the citizens living there from an invading force sent to prop up a failing military junta. The Belgrano was not a War Crime, the only War Crime was the Argentine invasion that originally took place.

The 2nd Iraq war was being planned by the Bush regime before 9/11 happened. 9/11 gave Bush the opportunity to carry this out (and in the process enable those who supported his campaign for election to cash in afterwards with lucrative contracts "rebuilding" the infrastructure of Iraq - notice how very few contracts by comparison went to British companies even though we were the 23nd largest contributor to the military effort).

    There is no comparison!

You're wasting your time with these tree huggers, blokes like ST hated Thatcher so much, they wanted Argentina to win that war. Disgusting.

but blair is a war criminal according to you even though he's never been convicted of being one by the Hague.

Thanks to Reagan and Thatcher to we live in a world which is run by banks and big business and look at the mess they've got us into. all Thatcher cared about was lining the pockets of the well off and to **** with the rest. whole swathes of British industry sold off with the majority of shares going to the rich for a fraction of what they were worth. whole swathes of housing stock sold off with all the money going to central government instead of back to the councils to invest in new stock.

unemployment through the roof, riots on the streets, no minimum wage, no such thing as society, NHS falling to bits, schools crumbling, existing housing stock riven with dampness, 11 years of boom and bust policies, double the rate of inflation, housing repossession at record levels, bankruptcy at record levels, closing the pits then exporting coal which cost more than British pits were producing, thousands of miners thrown on the scrapheap when there were no other jobs available in their communities etc.

We're still paying the price for her destructive policies 20 years on.

Yes MaHatMaBunnet Bliar is a War Criminal because he liued through his teeth to Parliament and the country about the reasons for invading Iraq the 2nd time around. The Hague should charge him for his crimes, but the IWCT would have to charge George W Bush as well and the Americans won't allow that. There were no Iraqi's involved in 9/11 and as Al Qaida had no real presence at the time in Iraq there was no reason to go into the country. George W Bush was purely trying to finish off what George H W Bush couldn't do in 1991. By aligning us so close to this president who could only get elected to the White House by one state of the union commiting massive electoral fraud and then re-elected on the back of almost 4,000 people being wiped out by a terrorist attack organised by a Saudi Arabian.

After the whole "Saddam has WMD's" argument, which was the only justification Bliar had presented to the whole nation, was shown to be total bollocks meant he had deliberately deceived the whole country.

I would also point out your point about "we're still paying the price for her destructive policies" is pure bull crap. When Bliar and Brown took over in 1997 they inherited a strong economy and proceeded to tax it for all its worth, squandered billions of tax payers money on setting up useless Quangos and on massive projects - like the new NHS IT system (which cost over £1 Billion) - that were sexed up and sold to the public as "progress" and flogged off our Gold |Reserves at a rock bottom price. We'd still be in a quagmire if the Labour Party hadn't squandered our resources, there's no denying that, but we wouldn't have suffered as badly as we have done if the money had been put to where it could have done some real good.

Surprised no one voted for MacMillan. If you're going to have a Tory govt, it's usually best when they're led by a tweedy posho who runs the country in his spare time. Oh, hang on...
