People are criticising Liverpool paying £35m for Carroll more than Chelsea paying £50m for Torres, which is completely wrong. Carroll has potential, we desperately needed a striker at that moment in time and we were willing to pay anything for it - even reinvesting the £50m.
I feel Enrique was the player we needed (solid left back to strengthen our back four). Downing was the player we wanted (pace, left footed, wide player, bit of creativity and an eye for goal from midfield). Coates will be player who'll develop into the one we form our team around in the future (the next Hyypia, rock in the centre of our back 4 for years to come). So...I passed on voting because I can't decide
