Off Topic Best mates

I've met and worked all over the world, know loads of people, but when push comes to shove, there is only really one best mate. That one lad who wee have no secrets, the one lad i can truely trust. Yet wee are chalk and cheese.

Anyone else have one specific mate above others?

 

Yup ... I'm godfather to his eldest lad as he is to my youngest daughter ... first met him when me and my cousin went on holiday to Portugal in our twenties and got put in a taxi from Faro to Vilamora with 2 lads from Coventry ... first impression when we clocked them at Birmingham airport was "what a pair of twats" ... turned out to be the friendship of a lifetime ... been there through thick and thin ... salt of the earth ..
would do anything for him coz I know he would for me ... as close as family

The post title is "best mates" rather than best friends ... your best mate should, ideally, be your best man at your wedding - probably been through a number of scrapes with you growing up or in later life, would have your back without judgement and should also not be scared to call you a twat if you are being one

Glad I have one, plus a number of other very good mates - feel a bit sorry for those that don't - probably good reasons for that mind
