I saw Free in 71/72 at the Locarno, think it was 72 like, I remember seeing Hawkwind at the City Hall a few months later..

Here's a brilliant solo, A twin lead guitar solo but one of my favourite ever bands..

The songs a bit slow, stay with it and hear Andy Powell and Ted Turner at their very best..<ok>

Ps, I was at that concert, City Hall Newcastle, June 73

If that was the time he was swapping rings with the girls at the front of the stage while still playing, yes, he also fell into the Drums at the end if I remember. You were lucky to get one pint at that upstairs bar, it was usually about 30 deep. I went to the Bay and the Locarno just about every night while the "Doc" was putting on all the bands, most of who were recommended by Mick Grabham, I knew most of that crowd, and will never forget those days, happy times.

I agree a lot of the music in the 70's was gash but there has never been another decade come remotely close to the rock music that was produced in that decade and I mean remotely just the odd band has stood out and then disappeared inside a year.

It's the same people posting week after week Comm. I doubt their music choices are gonna change that much.

Ask Enfield to post a music thread. We may end up discussing anything from nursery rhymes to Mozart or Bach.
