4!.....Reuser & Arnie Muhren legends both, and the makers or scorers of many superb goals. Doubt we will ever see such creative players together again. But Bish is doing nicely!!
There were so many good goals in the Burley era many of you guys mentioned the ones in the playoffs, Stewart had a few good ones that season. I seem to remember the Alun Armstrong one against Milan , such a great occassion and a really good header, I also remember the Finidi George one was class and I seem to remember Marcus Bent scoring a similar one But one of my favourites was Alan Quinns goal against Norwich when we basically consigned them to relegation a few years back, such a good team move, passing and movement at its best. Pablo and Dos Santos were on fire that day and it was a pleasure to watch 2 genius players on the same wavelength As for best goal against I definitely think it was Baines, we as Ipswich fans just sat in stunned silence, there's usually a few grumbles but there was just nothing to say other than just appreciate a superb goal
Best goal---- Clive Woods against Leeds 1978 F A cup replay at Filbert Street Think it was 2nd or 3rd replay (no penalty shoot out) quater final? Memory fading 25 yards out on edge of box curled in top right corner Only a young lad but remember crying with joy A day of days ( oh where have they gone lol)
Yorkie I think the goal you mean was in the '75 Cup run when it took two(?) replays to decide the tie and the second was on neutral ground hence Filbert Street. Didn't go to that game but went to both notorious Semi final matches against West Ham (I remember crying on that occasion only not with joy!)
Best goal against would possibly be Lewis McGugan's stunning freekick a few years back at the city ground.. As for best in A Town shirt, I recall a wonderful diving header from Matt Holland (practically headed off the ground) in a midweek win at home against Sunderland. Also Bobby Petta at home to Norwich in the 5-0 win was a great individual goal
