It's a toss up between Lescott and Terry for me. Both have been pretty much fautless. For Swedens second, the ball hung in the air for so long, I wondered why the keeper didn't come for it.
I'm inclined to give it to parker, Cole or Milner next. Ashley dung has looked ok when running with the ball or finding space but for some strange reason his main input seems to be to drawing 5 fouls so far. I think he really needs to stay on his feet longer or we're carrying him, Welbeck has done a good job but other than the goal had little inpact going forward. Milner stands out for his work rate, reminds me of our own mackie a little. Glen Johnson gives me nightmares but looks a bit more mature this time round. Which is nice. Top Bannana is Parker his combination of tacking & passing is very good. Whilst we have better in both department elsewhere he's a great combination player and looks braver than I remember.
It's so amazing how we all see things so differently eh? Parker, for me, has looked lacking at International level in possession, giving the ball away endlessly......but he's been his usual robust dynamo out of possession!! I think I'd give it to Gerrard, although Johnson has been very good.......and quick too!!
Parker has looked totally out of his depth, Walcott for me. He did more in 30 mins than Milner and Young combined have done in 2 games.
He looked good v Sweden, but the ultimate confidence player. If his first touch of the game is bad, or his marker takes the ball off him a couple of times early on, that's it, he's gone. Traore, not the worlds greatest defender, had him in his pocket at the Emirates. Impact sub for me, when the opposition has tired, tell him to run at them. Still think Hart - with keepers we always focus on what they could/ should have done, rather than the quiet work they actually do. He's saved a lot of admittedly long shots - but ones that Green (oh dear), Foster, Robinson and Carson have let in in the last few seasons. He gives the defense some confidence, and Christ they need it with Terry there. Pissed myself laughing when he tried to catch up with Ibrahimovic, who is hardly Bolt.
The commentator had it right, it was like he was running in treacle. He looked awful. Hes in real trouble if he loses what little pace he has. I think Lescott has done well too but i dont think anyone has dominated a game yet.
